Grimm Artisanal Ales (March 2016)

Now all of you guys know how I feel with the onion taste with beers that use Summit hops.

I will gladly take all of your MBDN bottles, no apple taste for me!

 

Could it be that only some of the bottles were infected. I haven't had my bottle yet and I'm really hoping I get lucky.

 

@Grimm_Artisanal_Ales Is Cloudbusting coming back? I thought that was one of the most unique IPAs I've ever had.

@cebern probably but the recipe will be rotating through different NZ hops, so it won't be the same.

 

Shared a bottle with a big group of beer geeks this weekend and everyone seemed to enjoy. I'm 2/2 with my MBDN drinking experiences (though first time was on tap).

 

had all three DNs side by side this weekend and BA came out on top for me. I didnt get any of the green apple that is reported here but i was not amazed by the maple in general. still a good beer, but the plain BA definitely came out on top

 

Hope this will be a huge batch! I'm going to definitely hunt this down big time. One of the best beers I had last year!

 

Sadly Lambo was an outlier because we had some extra fermentation space magically open up. For the upcoming releases of Afterimage and Tesseract we have to go back to the same batch size as Cloudbusting.

 

Anyone have any idea if you can get Grimm in the DC area?

 

A few bars sometimes have bottles (I've seen it at Churchkey and Pizza Paradiso), and I think some bottle shops got a few bottles. Also, a majority of Grimm stuff is brewed at Beltway Brewing in Sterling so you can get it on tap or growlers there. IPA cans are only distributed to NY.

 

Beltway Brewing in VA is where a lot of it is brewed. They usually have one or two on their beers on tap. You missed the tap takeover a couple weeks ago. Being able to walk in without crowds, try 6-7 Grimm beers and fill the growlers was a nice treat.

Occasionally, their beers can be found at the various bars run by NRG. Pizza Paradiso has also received some kegs in the past.

@Downtownjoeybrown The Sovereign doesn't have anything on Tap, but they do have bottles of Orgone Accumulator & Purple Prose.

 

Just wanted to say that I received the Tesseract glass and sunrise tshirt - great customer service. The tesseract glass is super big - be warned! It clearly states 18oz but I couldn't quite picture it till I saw it. The shirt is very cool.

 

Yeah it's meant to hold about 12oz of liquid with plenty of room in the balloon to capture aromas. I wouldn't fill it to the top.

 

canning today, kegging tomorrow/thurs along with kegging/bottling Vacay -- still looking at shipping both beers monday, so they hit shelves wednesday 3/16.
