Thanks for the tip! (and 10 minutes before they posted) Great to get both cans and bottles at one place without having to run around.

Bottles n Cans and just clap your hands and just clap your hands...where it's at? Cans and bottles hit in Troy today, pumped to try awoogah, Can looks mighty cool and the last few Grimm DIPA's just didn't hit the mark for me.

City Hops has them. Maybe a case left as of 5 minutes ago.

Grabbed 2 cans and a bottle. Prices are kinda crazy. Near $7 a can? Hope it's worth it

Anyone on here try Awoogah yet? Wondering how it stacks up.

Awoogah hit Suffolk County today. Got cans at Bayport Superstar and Swiftway in Medford. Swiftway also had cans of LIC Backjump. Oh what a glorious day.

Sipping it now, crisp and zesty. It's a nice change of pace from the last cans that In my opinion were on the malty side.

I might have to throw in the towel on the Grimm hunt after over a successful year and a half of getting every release. My store says Whole Foods are taking larger shares now leaving them with none. I'm nowhere near a Whole Foods and not about to run around the city pokemon go style. It's been a good run. Now open up that damn brewery.

Just curious as to what your store is. My local WF locations haven't had more cases (from what I've been told)

I'm up in Harlem most of the time. A Whole Foods recently opened up on 97th that apparently just started snagging Grimms before they would usually make it further north.

That store opened seven years ago, and until a couple of months back didn't get any Grimm cans at all. I haven't noticed any fewer at places farther up since then. Some have stopped posting their Grimm on beermenus because they got tired of dealing with the truck-chasers, though.

Apparently they started selling Grimm with the September releases. That's what the retailer I talked to said, but it's too far for me to want to pop in myself.

Drank one tonight. Ok, I guess? A little thin and kinda flavor-lite but the aroma was nice. Somewhat average. At least it wasn't a Grimm sugar bomb so there's that.

But at $6-7 per can it's probably the biggest ripoff in NYC beer right now.

This is getting old and is so far from the truth. I'm not sure if people are comparing Grimm cost vs cost of brewery purchases which would be insanely unfair considering retail needs to mark beers up to keep their lights on. If you compare Grimm to the best retail beers available it is one of, if not the cheapest option, certainly amongst the NY stuff. Off the top of my head the best IPAs consistently available retail are Grimm, Singlecut, Barrier, LIC, MBC, pipeworks, captains daughters. Of the NY beers listed above Grimm and LIC are the cheapest at about $6 per can on avg. Singlecut and MBC are over $10 for 16.9 ounce bottles. Spent the same for a Barrier Daddy Warbucks couple days ago. Considering they are as cheap or cheaper than the competition I'd say it is very fairly priced.

First off, you left out Sloop who consistently makes the best and readily available (at least in Albany NY) IPAs I've had from NY, but that's ok. I think the issue people are having is that Grimm's consistency in cans has dropped off, very slightly...but still it exists and prices have more or less gone up. I'd pay 10 bucks a can for magnetic compass or lumen, that's how good that beer was in my opinion and the recent releases (with the exception of Afterimage) don't stack up. 6 bucks a can doesn't look so cheap when you put it in 4pk format, especially if you don't know what you're getting yourself into. Most Singlecut bottles cost around 6.99-7.99 here in Albany, and keep in mind they actually have a brewery and much more overhead than Grimm currently does, also a reason why they are able to put out consistently amazing beer Year-round weekly.

I agree with this. Grimm has been a bit inconsistent as of late. But I also think a lot of the local breweries have caught up in terms of quality.

Singlecut and MBC bottles are also overpriced to the extent that I don't buy them anymore. Singlecut makes for a nice brewery visit, or find on tap somewhere but not worth taking home for me. Just too many other options in NYC at least.

That said I'm still a sucker for grimm, but I'll only grab a can if my local spot has them, and usually only one(though that's usually all one spot will sell anyway).

Brewery can't come soon enough! Any truth to the rumors that it'll be in the well?
