For real. While Double Negative is a nicely done imperial stout the BA version was tremendous, one of my favorite beers of the year. Everything in the last batch just singing in harmony - roastiness, barrel character, sweetness, bitterness, no single element dominating the other or throwing things out of whack. Loved the sweetness level of that beer, present but not a flabby underattenuated BA stout like so many one encounters these days.

I'm glad Tesseract is canning this time. With Pulse Wave and Afterimage I really wanted cans because they were brand new beers. With Tesseract, I know its good (and from a can its gonna be so good) but if I can't get a can it's all good. Plus Grimm sends kegs around in addition to the cans so that helps too.

Agree with this. I love Tesseract, but I won't be upset if I miss the cans because I've had it several times before at this point. That being said, with an increase from a 60bbl to 90bbl batch, that should roughly double the amount of cans hitting the city assuming they previously split the batch between kegs and cans and allocate the entire additional 30bbl to cans.

I also look forward to the art Grimm uses for their releases. Always top notch.

I don't have a list, but I would expect that you'll find it in your usual Grimm spots starting this weekend!

Without causing any problems, I'll be in NYC next week and would love to grab a bottle or 2 of purple prose...can someone point me in the right direction to find this?

Pretty much any bottle shop carries Grimm. Use beermenus.com as well, a lot of places keep it up to date. Also, come back and monitor this thread right before you get here and see what people are saying then - it can be a good source of info. Different places get their shipments on different days. Fair warning though, Grimm has been flying off the shelves lately, so you'll need to act quickly when you hear a place has it.

Glad I live in an area thats not a beer geek destination. I can still get bottles of rainbow dome and super symmetry.

DN, pulse wave and afterimage...now thats another story. Shit flew off the shelves.

Yea, I should follow up by saying that some of their sours, such as Rainbow Dome and Super Symmetry, have been available for a little longer and weren't as difficult to grab in the city. It's worth mentioning, however, that these all came out before Afterimage, DN, and Pulse Wave, which all flew off the shelves. I think the Grimm hype train is really kicking into high gear now. Maybe the sours won't be in as high demand as the IPAs and DN - we'll find out soon with Purple Prose. Fingers crossed it's not too tough.
