It was good indeed but I actually prefer Singlecut Billy Full Stack ...and that is just for the NYC area.

i love this one with a clean palate, when i started to dirty it with darker treats and revisited it i got tons of onion as well.

Interesting... I always specifically look for onion notes in hoppy beers and personally can't find any in tesseract (not that there's anything inherently wrong with it). For me it's super clean, creamy, balanced and fruity. Maybe you drank from a keg that had been abused/left by a heater, or there was some other interaction with another flavor on your palate as rootz said. Of course you're entitled to your own taste buds.

I had a few pours from a growler as the first beer I drank of the day, and I got no onion, just a barrage of fruit and a little bit of marijuana-ish flavor. I hate onion flavor in IPAs, I'm glad I didn't get it with this one, ha.

Just got to try this at Milk and Hops (nice new spot) and agree that it's a superb beer. Joe, you should be really pleased. You nailed it. Can't wait to try the new stuff coming out.
