That is awesome but that could really impact your game negatively. On a hot day I could easily see myself drinking too many and then seeing some huge numbers on my score card.

You don't want to know. It will only make you dumber.

I thought this thread was going to have something to do with captain's picks for the Ryder Cup.

Too bad about the beer selection though, if you otherwise had a good time and plan to do it again I would bring it up with the tournament sponsor.

Usually I bring a growler or my own bottles/cans every time I play. Just stuff them in your bag. Even if they have a good craft beer or two available, it is probably $5 or $6 per...

I consider myself and honest guy and don't feel bad about doing this. Plus, its a great way to introduce craft to people who would have ordered BMC.

It's not beer, and anyone that says it is going to have to admit Mike's hard lemonade is beer too.

    second this fo sho

I haven't seen too much craft at any golf course. Always pack a flask of something decent, smoke a nice stogie or 2 and chock it up to the game. what did you really expect? what courses have you played where they had a good selection of craft? I want to go play there. My game sucks anyway so if I get to drink some goods bonus.

The OP explained that the tournament was sponsored by a brewpub that also provided he beer and the golf course bar was not involved in supplying the beer. That's why he was confused/disappointed.

You took a lot of crap for this post for some reason. People start complaint posts all the time on here. But yes I doubt the bar had anything to do with the lineup. That is just what they always sell at the clubhouse. It really does not make sense though. The really nice courses have top shelf liquor, fine wines and nothing but macro lagers for beer. Considering how many canned options we have these days they should have a better selection. Maybe no one ever brings it to their attention?

Did you see any Budwiser or Coors advertisement banners up at the course? There's yer answer.

Though I'm surprised they didn't even have regular Budweiser. If there were exclusion deals involved they usually still have Shock Top, Blue Moon and Goose Island.

i thought it might be a lighter version of coors light - i was trying to wrap my head around that. like corona light.

but i see now that it's sugar/extract infused - that sounds far less interesting than a lighter coors light.

again, what course has anyone here played where they had craft? sponsored by any brew pub or not

I have seen plenty of "tasting events" at courses where the lineup was nothing a BA would go to.

the golf course is not my top destination pick to go get some good brew

MillerCoors apparently toyed with a sort of "lighter version" of Coors Light but their legal team stepped in and nixed the idea, concerned with the potential of lawsuits from Poland Spring, Pepsi (Aquafina) and Coca-Cola (Dasani).

    Just industry rumors, of course.

    1. If the golf course was handling the beer, then its up to them and fact is most golfers don't want DIPA playing in 98 degree August weather

    2. If it was a tournament where beer is included in the entry fee (ie charity benefits especially) then you can be rest assured it was donated by a local distributor. Sorry, but nobody is going to be donating KBS and Jai Alai.

Yeah, I know. The best I've seen is probably Heineken cans. Except in this case it's been clearly stated that the brewpub was supplying the beer, NOT the course. The OP later said some cans of SA or SNPA would have been nice. Not such a big deal. Personally, I would have been more annoyed that there was only light beer, not even regular Bud cans.

Oh, and the last time I played a scramble, I just brought my own cans of Dale's Pale Ale. Problem solved.

Yet another reason not to play golf.
