Anyone in MA try duct taping around a growler logo and getting it filled at a different brewery? I suppose they would ask if it's their growler, which I would then reply "of course". And as to why there is duct tape, it to prevent the clanking of one growler to another. I'm visiting western MA brewery later this month and I rather not put down multiple deposits on a growler I won't use frequently (aka buying more growlers). As an FYI, i've looked at this thread. http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/growler-laws-in-ma.77569/ and it didn't help my question.
Curious to see if this works. My guess would be no luck, but I suppose it depends on the brewery, the person doing the filling, and how busy the place is. Good luck and report back!
I actually don't hate the idea of doing the anti-clank strip. Even with dividers they always seem to find a way to be annoying in the car. As far as the intended purpose... I doubt it'd fly.
Probably won't work but some breweries will swap yours for one of theirs so you don't have to give a deposit.
