'May be' is an understatement in my view. Yet given the changes of late and so many new breweries how does one lead? Overwhelming indeed. Still, I think that an 'authorized' San Diego growler would go a long way and maybe reign in the last few straglers in growlerville as far as San Diego is concerned..

I love how fresh and easy hired a beer buyer who self admittedly seemed to know nothing about beer.

Article was written by somebody who doesn't know craft beer about somebody else who doesn't know about craft beer but is in charge of it. Seems on par with most beer articles.

Coachella brewing, any of their stuff worth bomber prices?

OC Register's craft beer reporting has always been half-ass or amateurish.

Okay, just going through checking out tap list at a few places here in OC/LA and I come across this. . . . .
check out Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Stout. . . .it says it's available for growler fills. . . .at the Speakeasy HB. Is that a typo or is there a new growler fill law in California that says anyplace can fill growlers now?

Looks like a typo. It looks like the TapHunter beer list. probably imputed in there by mistake

Continuing a conversation from the Smog City thread:

How have others dealt with uninformed bartenders before at spots that do, indeed, fill blanks (but that specific bartender says nope)? Obviously can't just pull up the G-doc and say "hey, this says you do!"

Not that I’ve ever ran into this problem (the irony of me making that spreadsheet is that I almost never get growler fills), but usually you can find references in a brewery’s social media. For example, with HPB, which is what prompted that question:

The beautiful people at the cask brewery in Van Nuys filled up my OG stone 40oz Kleen Kanteen.

Some places still do make s Big Deal about it. So be it. BL has some decent IPA's I can fill with a blank/label growler. Another place that has some great iPAs is Noble. But you do pay $$ for their premium offerings. Maybe one day?

I would just prefer everyone fill up any growler. Just if it is branded, have a koozy around it or the labels covered with something else

Many states any growler, blank or labeled. And some you can fill up at a gas station while your filling up with gas. Maybe not the most sanitary place but...you have a choice.
