You can get a 64oz growler fill of Evil Twin Even More Jesus for $25-30. Sheesh! Way too much for a DIPA.

That works out to something like $11 a bomber. If you had a taste or a pint and it left a good impression, that's not crazy. I've done $20 fills, plenty of $15 fills, and could probably justify a $30 fill for a special occasion.

It would need to rock my world to justify that price. I bought a growler of Chillwave DIPA for $12, so it would have to be an amazing take. And comparing with a bomber misses the downside of a growler - the experience will degrade much more quickly if you don't plan to consume the whole thing pretty quickly. Days instead of weeks.

In MA they are $12-$20. I paid $20 for a Tree House DIPA- Curiosity 5 and thought that was a lot. I paid $15 a growler yesterday at Trillium for FPPA which I thought was fair. $30 a growler is a $6 pint. Close to what they cost at a bar.

The best brewery in greater Pittsburgh, Helltown, has $10 growler fills and $15 for DIPAs. $30 is extremely steep and a failing business model as people will not want to try their beer at that price. Brewery growler fills should be the cheapest.

Assume the growler cost included the cost of the glass which is typically 6-10 bucks --- right? If I buy a 2L of HF Abner it's 18 for the beer and 10 for the refillable growler. 28 is steep. Bordering ridiculous to some. But the beer is incredible. Compared to wine --- the whole thing is reasonable (my wife has recently stopped buying that argument ....). I'd pay the same for Hoppy Birthday and not bat an eye. Same w a Trillium Sleeper St. So I say 30 might not be that crazy --- depends on the beer.
