Is it ironic that with a username of "KegKicker" you can't finish a growler in a day or two?

You don't have to drink a lot to kick a keg - just have to be there at the proper time! :grinning:

Growler sipper might be a better name.

I always finish my growlers pretty quickly. Don't really see the point.

For the beer drinker that has everything. Literally.

    Yep. My thought as well.

My family gave this to me last year for Christmas when it came out. I received it last week. Will have to find a worthy growler fill to test out in it. I had already purchased a SS growler with a pressure cap and was happy with it.... Will update with results

As someone who has kegs at home, I don't understand how these CO2 growlers maintain high enough pressure to keep the beer carbonated. At fridge temp, you need about 12 PSI for most beers, which necessitates at least 6 feet of line for a smooth pour. This growler has a foot and a half of tubing to the tap, tops, so either your beer is going to spray out like a fire hose, or else you won't have sufficient pressure to keep the beer properly carbonated. The CO2 will keep the oxygen out, but it won't really maintain the carbonation at its original level.

Yeah on that point I am no expert. That said I have another growler at the house that has a shrader valve at the top and I use a CO2 cart with a genuine innovations air chuck elite to keep pressure under it, mainly to keep the oxygen away from the beer. It works fine for keeping something around for several days. I am waiting until I get my co2 cart in so I can pressure test it and then I will fill it up and see how it goes. Seems there are some known issues with it, so not wanting to waste beer to find out how it holds up

ok finally got my CO2 carts, and filled it with water and set the PSI to 10. After about an hour noticed there was water at the base of the growler, seems it is leaking at the site tube. Contacted them to see what the process is to get it replaced/fixed. Not happy camper after waiting almost a year to get it and it is non functional. Just glad I didn't put beer in it

My folks got me one for my birthday.

    PROS:
    - it looks awesome.
    - it pours smoothly and gives a proper head.
    - it's a good conversation starter.

    CONS:
    - the tap drips very slowly with the residual from a pour...it's only a few drips but makes a mess in the fridge.

It requires a bit more effort to clean than a regular growler, but that's expected. The owners manual has a lot of good info about filling, cleaning, pressures for different beer types. I'm curious how long a co2 cartridge will last...hopefully more than one fill.

From all I've experienced during the ordering process and delays, it's a classic example of a startup that is experiencing greater demand than they planned for. If they can make it through this initial beta season and figure out a proper rhythm, I think they will improve the consistency of the product.

I just got mine back after repair, on its 3rd day and still holding water and pressure, draining off a pint of water a night. @mindswoop don't expect to get more than 1 growler from each cart, don't think that is going to happen. To spend so much quality on the rest of the device and put such a shitty tap on it kills me. I noticed a couple of things just playing with the water in it, it has a sweet spot, open it to much at it spits and shoots out it spurts, also when open it will come out the front of the tap :slight_frown:. Not sure if you are tilting it after closing it, as there is some that stays in the neck due to the way they designed it.

Any updates to share? Amazon reviews are literally 50/50 (either 4/5 stars or 1 star).

Ha no new updates, as I said I think it will be good when they get it worked out, but would avoid it until they get their production issues fixed. If I would have gotten it when the kids gave it to me I would have used the hell out of it, now I seldom get growler fills, too much beer at home to drink

I have a customer who brings one in once a week. He really acts like he's got a chunk of gold but I just have to laugh at the concept. For what you get it's ridiculously priced, it leaks (every fill I do drops a good 3ozs out the tap even when closed), and I just cannot see the need to make 64ozs of beer last a week or more. Anyone who sits on such a small amount of beer for that long isn't serious about drinking, and therefore has no business dropping $200 on a container or vessel of any kind.

So since my kids gave me one I am not serious about beer? Well you know what they say about opinions. I find it nice to get a 64oz growler fill of good stouts when they are on for a good price, and like the fact I don't have to gulp them down in 3 days. Granted I never would have purchased this for myself as it seems somewhat fragile, but I have another one with a schrader valve that I use quite a bit
