Takes about 30 seconds to add a picture once you get used to it.

Yup, I gave up years ago. Waste of my time. So much easier other places.

    Enjoy

I’ll admit it took some effort to learn but now it’s pretty easy. If I could just get these damn gifs figured out though….

Right-click on the GIF that you want to use and select "Copy Image Address", then select "Image" from the posting options and paste the link in there. Will add this to the guide as well, thanks for bringing it up. This works for me for all sites except imgur, which I don't have an account for. Probably their way of trying to force you to make an account.

    POSTIMAGES (my preference)

    1. Go to https://postimages.org/

    2. Upload your pictures and gifs to your Free account.

    3. Click Choose Images -> Browse to your picture

    4. Select your picture and click Open

    5. Copy the Hotlink for forums link and paste it in BA.

    Hope that this helps.

    Cheers!

So I am trying to be helpful and add photos to beers that does not have any and there are many. To me the images are quite important for a beer site. The requirements are pretty strict though. Very strict. The images have to be exactly 150X300 and below 20Kb. That's difficult to accomplish but traditionally you could use http://resizeyourimage.com/EN/ or https://imageresizer.com/. The latter one is no longer working. It has gotten harder not easier over the decades. The problem I am having is that it is no longer possible to upload images that are fulfilling all requirements. For example, an image that is 150X300 and 11Kb will no longer upload. Nothing will upload. Every time I login I fear what else is not going to work this time. Yes I am complaining but I also would like to know how to upload images successfully. What's going?

I also am trying to be a good BA and add 150x300 photos for beers that i add or find missing but have a slightly different issue. For the record I do not have any problems using imgur.com in posting unedited pictures on the BA site.

Curious to hear if anyone else is having trouble with imgur.com. I have been using the site to accomplish adding 150x300 resized photos of beer over the last couple of years but in the last two months i have been having trouble with resizing after not having issues. i use the 1 gigabyte Optimum Broadband internet service and Upload speed is not an issue.
Definitely open to any suggestions for imgur.com or if there are other sites that one can customize a photo to 150x300.
    Cheers!

Thanks for the tip @BigIronH , I've never been able to upload any photos. It's also important to me as I sometimes come across beers that have a few variances and I'm not sure if I'm reviewing the right one - a photo of the label would solve that! I'll give it a shot and if I can get it to work I'll upload from now on.

I have been using befunky.com for the past few years to resize images and find it super easy to work with. While I do admit it is difficult to maintain a good quality photo under the size requirements from the free site it does do the trick.

I was just able to successfully upload a picture I edited with RYI (17.25kb), so I suspect the problem must be at your end somehow, although it is difficult to say what the issue might be. As far as I'm aware, nothing has has changed concerning the image upload process.

Working from my desktop - Took me a minute but you can "unlock" the aspect ratio by clicking on the chain and then set the size to 150x300. Have uploaded a couple of pics, will check later if accepted. Thanks @BigIronH Harley!

As it turned out I came back a couple of days later and tried the same thing and this time it worked. I don't why it was rejecting all my 150X300 images but two days later it didn't.

I use the Adobe Photoshop Express app on my mobile device. It has several preset aspect ratios, including 4:3 (for place photos) and 1:2 (for beer photos). Once I set that and crop/rotate the photo, I use the built-in resize and picture quality features to get it to the specified dimensions and file size. I have this procedure down to where I can usually complete it in under two minutes.

I just take a photo and send it to myself as the low resolution option (from an iPhone). On my mac, I simply open the image using preview and then click on the image and drag open the rectangle (shows pixels as you drag it). Once I set the 150X300, I simply select the "crop" option from the tool menu. Boom.

Congrats on making it work. The glass should be cropped out of the picture to upload it to the database though.
