Guide to rating places?

Oh, I think you may have misunderstood my meaning. I meant it is ridiculous that people would rate the place they work at. Not that it doesn't happen--that people should know better. It's clearly a conflict of interest.

My question was in regards to people besides those one and done reviewers who are just reviewing their business. The people you don't know for a fact are inflating their local places.

 

I think if everyone who did a review--place or beer--put this kind of thought and detail into it, we wouldn't have to worry about whether there should be a sliding scale or an absolute scale. All the proper context for evaluating the place based on that review's scores would be present within the review.

But as you said... humans and stuff.
