I realize this may sound odd to people who are not familiar with Lithuania, but the country actually has a very, very interesting beer scene. Unfortunately, it's one that's almost totally unknown outside the country. I wanted to do something about that, so I wrote a (free) guidebook to Lithuanian beer. So if anyone wonders where to go in eastern Europe you might want to have a look at that. Hope you enjoy.
Thank you very much Sir! Your effort is highly appreciated, as my roots lay in Lithuania, while I was never able to visit it yet.
That is a great idea. I've only had a couple days in Vilnius but had fabulous beer, and a great experience, which I'm assured only gets better if I get out out of town... the good stuff is often called country beers, after all, isn't it? Congrats and thanks for the guidebook. Now, to plot a return voyage...
It's amasing. I am live in Lithuania now and I have a big interest in local beers. There is very little bit of information about local beers, so I try to describe a Lithuanian beer myself. Here is my little database: http://mini.beer/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=6 PS. Lars, thank you for your book, I am read it with big interest.
Hi lesorub: thank you for that link! I've bookmarked it, and will make use of your list when researching Lithuanian beer.
Wow - thanks for this book! I'm head to Vilnius next month for a conference. I'll be sure to pass this around to other interested attendees.
I assume it was a lot of work to write this book. It looks really good. I'll try and read the whole thing and gain some knowledge about the Lithuanian beerscene. Congratulations
