It does, but it has been draft only for the last several years (the same as Munich Dark and Weisse Dark) None of those three even show up as an option in their beer finder.

Would be awesome if they sent the Maibock here. But I really like the Hofbrau one, and that is readily available. As far as I am aware, it is the only German-made Maibock distributed in the US.

I just might take this opportunity to get reacquainted with H-P. I drank a hell of a lot of their beers from like '95 to '05, then started to have better luck with Hofbrau and Augustiner. They also started exporting a different helles around that time, from the amazing Edelhell to the fairly okay Munich Gold. Hmm...I wonder if there's a connection there .

We also get Einbecker, sometimes even in mini-kegs (!!).

Without seeing the old packaging I have to say it looks very similar......Doubt I would have noticed at the store.....

    Don't think it's in MN.

Neither are any beers from Augustiner. :slight_frown:

Most of the good German beer I buy is from Weihenstephaner, Ayinger, Hofbrau, Aecht, and Andechs. Occasionally Paulaner and Hacker-Pschorr but I find the ones I listed first often edge them out on respective styles.

I have had the Ayinger Maibock a number of times on draft. I posted the below photo in a thread last year:

I thought they were the same as the 12 pack bottles that say 11.2????

The bottle images don't show an amount and they look blocky (stout?) like other .5 liters from Germany. The 11.2s are slim.

    But I'm just spit-balling, we'll have to wait 'n see I guess.

It would be great if they would start that trend on imports so I can drink 2 beers at a time instead of 3 from my liter and look like I have a problem.

Just looked at the website and the only bottles they show are the flip-top .5 liters, so that confuses things more.

Just looked at the Paulaner website and it looks like they're using the same bottles -- and they show a .5l in the same shape as above, but also in the 11.2 ounce, so it looks like the small bottles have been modified.

And the 11.2 Paulaner bottles have the name embossed on the neck. Good to be the parent company I guess.

Depends where you shop--Ale Jail had Augustiner in January and Einbecker Pils more recently. Total Wine used to carry their Mai Ur-Bock and Ur-bock dunkel, but I don't think they do anymore

It has been available (draft-only) for the past few years. I believe Gasthof zur Gemuetlichkeit would usually get it.

Ayinger Maibock has been available at the Winzer Stube in Hudson in the past few years.

Yup. Quite fresh then too. Edelstoff was bottled end of October and Maximator was bottled first week of November.

Follow their twitter--lots of different offerings you don't see at many other places in the Twin Cities.

Redesign looks good to me. Always felt like Hacker-Pschorr makes solid beers across the board. I never did find the 4-pack cans of Weissbier they came out with, so I'm hoping these will be easier to come by.
I love the look on my wife's face when I grab bottles of Oktoberfest two at a time out of the fridge. I'm going to have more than one anyways so why not just grab two and get a proper fill in my 0.5L seidel? It's not my fault the bottles are only 11.2 oz.

But it is a wheat beer. My hefe glasses are all pretty big to allow for that nice head.
