I have the originally released Rue D'Floyd and Floyd D'Rue bottles. I'm waiting a while before I open those to see if it is infected, and to see how it's changed the beer.

Edit: I'll come back months from now and let you know how it is.

Never been confirmed as infected, but the batch of Jester King's Das Uberkind that I tasted on tap (apparently it wasn't the precise recipe that was released on bottles though), tasted like blue cheese. I have a hard time imagining that was intentional (Uberkind is the base for all their fruited 500ml sours), but I thought it was great.

Recently opened my last b1 soured Guava Grove and it is still drinking mighty fine.

Correct, incorrect, correct, in that order. They had a lactobacillus infection in a few batches of Matilda, most of which actually managed to get bottled and released to the public before they caught it. They noticed one batch just in time, however, and decided to age it in either spare bourbon barrels or used Bourbon County Stout barrels, I don't remember which.

However, they were able to replicate it once, as evidenced by the fact that two batches with differing alcohol contents were released. One was 8.5%, the other around 9.4% if my memory serves me correctly. I've never understood why they refuse to bottle a batch of Dominique. It was a huge hit on draft and they have a ton of bourbon barrels to play around with.

I know many of you might think otherwise, but the 4/13 infected batch of Perennial Fantastic Voyage wasn't half bad. I would love to try the "clean" version, but for what it was, certainly not bad.

Yeah, sometimes just letting a Wit or Wheat beer hang around for a while gives is a nice tart edge. Can be very pleasant.

Infected Odell BA Imperial Stout tastes scarily like certain beers from Jolly Pumpkin.

a few years ago I bought a sixer of Moo Thunder Stout by Butternuts Beer that was clearly infected. it was interesting to say the least but clearly wasn't what I was expecting when I bought this milk stout.

Interesting. Wasn't aware it was released twice. Not sure which one I had. It was on draft at the Bavarian Lodge for a BCBS tasting and I am simply relaying what I was told by Brett who was in attendance. Said it was an accident that they were not able to recreate so instead of getting the Cherry Rye I was there for I should probably get the Dominique since I would not be seeing it again.

I'm stoked that they are re-brewing this; although I have no idea how it's going to compare to the last version that was a 'mistake'.

I am surprised no one has mentioned White Chocolate yet; I thought the infected version was actually fairly tasty. Not surprising though, a lot of the brews people are talking about are Bruery beers. :astonished:

I think there was an old post on this 1. I drank it the first year it came out and liked it, then next year I though It was too sour. I like sours. I cannot remember if that thread decided this was infected or NOT? I know it was a little too much pucker for me to enjoy....its funny how some like the mistakes and some do not. It was not undrinkable, because as cheap as I am.
I finished the whole bottle (bomber) by myself.:grimacing::grimacing:

even warmed up fully to 70f it took me awhile to get through it.:slight_frown:

    I said never again though.:grinning::grimacing:

    cheers!

I unintentionally infected a "bourbon barrel" imperial brown batch of homebrew last year. Tasted soapy after a couple weeks in bottles. It didn't quite sour much, but a year later has the Flanders characteristics akin something like Duchesse De Bourgogne. I'm hoping some more acidity develops over time.

I was also given a bottle of Boulevards brett'd batch2 imperial stout and it was great.

The Schneider Cuvee Barrique I believe was unintentionally sour, but is still one of my favorite dark sours.

Adjunct Professor w/ Boysenberries. I don't know if this was intentionally soured, but it was pretty amazing; one of the best beers I've had. Dark, roasty, smooth imperial stout with a tart backbone and jammy berries.

I had the infected White Chocolate and it was interesting. After trying the non-infected version, I can't say I like either all that much.

That batch of Two Hearted that made it into circulation a few years ago wasn't half bad.

Adjunct Professor was intentionally soured. If it's a SARA bottle, it's pretty much a given that it's tart.

Infected White Chocolate was drinkable for me, never had non-infected. Infected Autumn Maple that had lacto was actually pretty delicious!

Several years ago I picked up some Jack d'Or that was supposedly infected. I thought it was so incredibly sour (and delicious) that I grabbed two more cases of it. Was my go to "celebration" beer for the next year and a half!
