Why aren't they rated the same way as reviews (minus the written part)? Why can't it be just a quick rating for Look, Smell, Taste, Feel, Overall? Just a thought. Feedback in encouraged.
I agree. People who use Hads but don't review use Hads to mark what they've tried and aren't as geeky as the rest of us. I use them too though, only when I can't review. I like being able to see my impressions of beers that I wasn't able to fully tick. It helps with my spreadsheet though.
That makes sense. Can definitely see both sides of it. I think it would nice to have a more accurate number...although this far into the game, it probably isn't that accurate to begin with, in the "hads" department. But, if you did it by the L,S,T,F,O, those ratings could be added into the overall number.
I definitely agree. I've noticed a few beers where the Hads score is actually .25 lower than reviews and seen the opposite (which is more common) where the Hads are higher than the review ratings. It's probably due to small sample sizes.
I'm not good at writing reviews and I prefer using that time in the forums so I like the idea of L,S,T,F,O rating for hads. Would be interesting for sure.
I use hads to give myself something to remember beers by when I don't have the time/energy to do a real review (or it is just not practical because of the environment). That way I can go back and review beers that were worth having again. The place I most frequently use hads is at beer festival events where I want to remember the beers to have again some time. Also I have a couple of hads for beers that you cannot enter reviews for because the brewery stopped operations or whatnot.
I think hads are more like untappd. Its just something for you. If you want to tell people what you really think, take the 10 seconds to review the beer properly. I always thought hads would turn into BA's "untappd" via the upcoming mobile app.
They have been working - you just need to access them from the "Your: Beers" link in the left navigation area. I have been updating my GOTS/WANTS since you were able to log into the main site again.
It's not on any of the new "community" pages (forum, private message, profile, etc.), you have to go to the homepage. I'm sure we'll eventually get a BA navigation bar on the forum pages, but in the meanwhile you have to go to the homepage first.
