It's very solid! Drank one on the balcony today while enjoying the weather. Definitely has that familiar HA base but the hops and slight fruit flavor make it unique and enjoyable. At $10 it's a no-brainer IMO.

I had Bodem today. Not a bad beer at all, but didn’t stand out to me at all. I wouldn’t seek it out but would be fine drinking it as a craft choice somewhere.

Yea. It’s a serious winner. If you love HA, this is beer for you. And it might be for many people who want something a little more new school than Gone Away or Daisy.

I think it’s really good, and I think it should do very well for Half Acre.

Damn, that looked so good I was about to rush over to get a bottle...then saw in house only.

Chancellor is very complex, and, to me, challenging. I enjoyed a small pour, but would not want a lot of it. Extremely flavorful, with a great deal of barnyard on the nose.

I took the Balmoral tour, which was pretty neat. Very long and thorough. A few bits of intel:

Bodem was a one off release previously, under a different name. I wonder what it was!

Benthic 2019 is resting in these barrels: Elijah Craig, Four Roses, Apple brandy, Willett bourbon. I think the intent is to blend them, but I'll hold out home for some single-barrel one-offs!

They have a "Doom Stout" resting in barrels. It is an extremely high-gravity stout. They may adjunct some of the non-barrel-aged batch. The intent is to let these rest in barrels for a long time, and potentially pull them out at the 1 year, 2 year, 3 year mark to see how they age.

My guess is Andean Wake. Great news about the upcoming barrels, Half Acre is the best.

Yea. Seems as if this is a refined version of Andean Wake. Same hops listed. Same yeast strain listed. Guessing they loved it, tweaked it, and decided to make it a core brand

Andean Wake was a nice 4 pack, something I'd reach for once a year when it came out, but shelf beer? I'll have to try Bodum and see.

Having my first Bodem, like most others, I'm really enjoying it. Dank, pine, citrus, and moderately tropical. Classic IPA meets modern IPA, but done with the unmistakable Half Acre style (moderately bitter, quite dry). Definitely will be buying plenty of this at $10 a 4pk.

I totally agree with this. It's a great IPA and is so reminiscent of the Half Acre style. The $10 price point is just icing on the cake.

Yikes, have they done this before? I haven't been to Half Acre in awhile due to location, but $20 4-packs are where I draw the line for IPA's. You can get two Ninja 4 packs for that cost.

I want to say there's been a couple releases lately that have gotten close to $20, I can't remember which ones though exactly.
