Half Acre - Beer Hates Astronauts IPA

Only had a sample and I thought it was delicious. Sometimes my bottle experience doesn't jive with a sample, but I kind of doubt it with this one. They had plenty and no one was there around 12:45.

 

Sorry I should have been more clear... Has anybody tried looking at the bottle art yet?

Has anyone had the cask version in the tap room yet? Ill b there in a little over an hour and was curious. They added xtra Citra hops to the cask. Sounds quite tasty.

 

Surely it'll hold out 'til tomorrow, yes?

 

I just picked up some and there were around 100 left or so.

 

Firkin long since kicked. The cooler is full of Beer Hates Astronauts, with three cases extra on the floor.

 

On tap was really solid. Having it out of the bottle right now and it's not quite as good as the tap but still really great. Loving the Citra hops.

 

Damn that firkin sounded awesome. I was hoping to grab a bottle on Sunday, but it sounds like it may not last?

 

You going to STL or just an area where Schlafly distributes? I'd get you a bottle in exchange for fresh UCBC Zwickel.

 

Surprised it's lasted this long. Was held back from trying to grab a few today, but really, what gives? Is the demand for GDDC that much higher or did they just brew more of this beer based on that quick sell-out?

 

Guy working in the store said minus what they had in the cooler they had 1 more pallet left. This was approx. 5:30 when I asked. He said it would last until tomorrow sometime but not any longer. The BHA on tap was outstanding as stated above. Its everything you would expect from an all Citra hopped IPA. Haven't cracked open a bottle yet so can't give any feedback on that.

 

One word review: STELLAR

 

IPA: lower abv, less malt, lower cost to make should be cheaper than their dipas. And yes I know hops are expensive.

 

The cask version was a little soapy compared to on tap and the bottle. I've had all three versions today and I actually preferred the bottle to the tap with the cask/firkin coming in 3rd.

 

I'm campin' out overnight to get mah bottles!

I scored some the other day at Mariano's Fresh Market the other day. York Rd., just North of 290. By far the closest DC in the straight out West suburbs (from what I've seen).

 

The beer was great in both bottle & firkin.... Somehow i believe it wouldve tasted better if brewed in collaboration with a metal band

 

Is this a beer or marketing thread? Holy shit, sort thru all the noise and distractions, is the beer good or not is the only question I care about. That and how hard is it to get.

My purpose in reading this thread is to determine if the brew is still available, as of mid-day Saturday?
