Don’t give goose island that praise. $40 dollar for 500mL bottle of Barleywine. And Floyd’s is pretty new to the great value BA 4pks as well. Rev set the market and should be compliments for it. Now others like Floyd’s, penrose, crystal lake, ect are offering really low price tags for quality ba 4pks

 

Are there limits on the Troon collab? Anyone that’s been to HA already have any clue if it’ll last until the weekend?

So, uh, anyone drank that DB Benthic? I had the nitro draft Saturday and a can last night and...it might as well have cinnamon in it insofar as how non-Benthic-y it is. I love the barrel notes, but the coffee is too heavy and the coconut too light -- it's like 4 x 1/2 (2023) DB Benthic.

 

I love craft beer, but if there are going to be equations then the hobby can screw it.

That price is nuts. I'm sure it's a great brew but HA better be putting gold leaf on the can for that price.

 

I’m both impressed and confused that you reached back 12 days in the conversation to specifically ignore the price point comparison discussion we had.

But since this ice cold take is out after I had the beer, I’ll bite. Would put it in the top 2 of all Benthics I’ve had, and that goes way back. And since I have money to spend on my favorite brewery, well worth the opportunity cost. Plus I got more 2x4 on my pickup!

 

Please be sure to remove the gold leaf before recycling your cans so they don’t contaminate the smelted aluminum.

 

If you can justify that price, all the power to you.

 

Beer Hates Astronauts is back, baby!

 

I remember not loving it last year. And I feel like maybe that was the consensus, like I remember it having sort of a ethanol.....is probably not the right word but a diesely sort of after taste. I'll probably go snag a pour on draft but I don't know if I can commit to cans this year.

 

I liked it last year, but my dark secret is that a decent amount of the time, it's probably being paired with some sort of hard liquor, so it's entirely possible I wouldn't pick up that sort of aftertaste on the beer (one of the very few benefits to drinking beer with liquor, I guess).

I also tend to overbuy it and drink it slowly, which means I'm having cans 6 months later, so I'm sure that doesn't help, lol.
