Uakari label is the stuff of nightmares. I was going to say that it's sad to see HA moving to AI art, but turns out that it's an actual animal... Idk why they'd choose to put it on the label but here we are!

On a slightly different note, HA really ramped up their BA program in the last year or two. It used to just be Benthic, Odin and Catch Hell releases with DB Benthic coming out later as a different release. But now we have Earth Shook, Generational coming back for the second time, Rev collab that's now come out twice, Twin Chariot, Wilderness of history, Uakari... It seems like they're really ramping up the barrel program. It makes sense, I guess, they do a good job with most of these beers and if they're profitable to release, then why not.

 

Half Acre is one of my favorite BA beer producers right now. Quality is top notch and the format is perfect.

Another great BA beer in Uakari. Definitely a drier finish and thinner body than benthic/catch hell but great barrel expression from the different woods. Drank a whole can and could’ve had more

 

Have you ever been really, really wrong about something?

Uakari is fantastic. I get notes of waffle cone, strawberry, cream, wood and the faintest hint of cinnamon. It smells and tastes fantastic, and isn't syrup-y in the mouthfeel. like so many of their barrel aged stouts can feel like (to me, at least).

I'll echo @joeyknuckles and say bravo to Half Acre, here.

 

Was this one still in the cooler? Never paid attention to a sell out

 

They usually don't put cans out until the pick up window is closed, so while it wasn't in the cooler it probably will be.

 

I just cracked a DB 2x4 Benthic and it's the best coconut beer I've ever had
