Anyone know around how long the firkins last on fridays? wondering if its worth a trip up around 5pm. thanks in advance. cheers
It's rare that I'm at Half Acre on a Friday, but I did happen to catch one of the last pours from a firkin around 7ish last fall. Don't remember what it was, but it wasn't an IPA.
Typically when I've gone around 7 I've had no problem getting a pint or two. Seating might be tough, but you should be fine in getting the firkin unless it's something ultra rare. Really hoping they bring back the Akari firkin with lemon zest. They had it a few times last summer and it was aces.
I was there last Friday - got there about 4, and the first firkin (Vallejo w/ pineapple) kicked around 5. They brought out a 2nd one, AND also a firkin of their Kolsch w/ green tea. So, when I left at 5:30 there were two different firkins flowing.
FYI. Could be just the tonic for a cold winter day. FRIDAY, MAY 16TH Galactic Double Daisy Cutter with additional Galaxy hops & Daisy Cutter with whole leaf Aurora hops (that's right, there are 2!)
The GDDC firkin lasted 2 hours on Friday (until 2pm) and I was told that it was gone in record time. The DD w/ Aurora was still going at 3pm...
