Halloween drinking plans

I took Monday off because it was dman near 80. It's supposed to snow in an hour so my ass is hunkered down.

 

As much as I love my craft beer bars, the hot scandalously dressed ladies won't be there. If you have a popping downtown district you have to go there. Drink some craft beers ahead of time, taxi it, and deal with the poor selection at non-craft bars for the sacrifice of potentially getting a**.

 

I would love to go out and look at the crazy NYer's in their costumes, but kind of broke so bought a growler of Finback Moby and my friend is bringing his bass guitar over so I can set it up.

 

Once the sugar-crazed kids have stopped knocking I'm supposed to go to some kind of pay-to-get-in party. It's being thrown by a local circus troupe (I'm not kidding) for which my gf does occasional freelance work. I will be in costume; I have no faith that the cash bar will feature worthwhile beer options; and it hardly matters because I'll be acting as the designated driver.

I don't dislike Halloween but nothing about this appeals to me at all.

 

We always go out and get away from the house. We are "that" house. You know, the one that year after year does not have their lights on and never gives you candy that you muttered curses under your breath as you walked by. Just don't want to have to deal with the dog barking at every little ghoul coming to the door. With that being said, this is going to be a pretty special Halloween this year as it works out that we will be drinking craft beer out and about starting at our local brewery (Hi Southbound Crew!) and at some point during the night I intend to pop the question. Not because we have any particular like of Halloween. It just happens to work out for this day. Wish me luck! Prost!

 

It's Friday night... and that means no work tomorrow... which means... it's time to go out and party... off to Georgetown!

As a married guy with kids it'll be a 32 oz Long Island Iced Tea in a Gatorade squirt bottle while walking the kids around the neighborhood trick or treating. Craft beer doesn't really work when making the rounds trick-or-treating. Before we leave though, I'll be having some pizza with Pliny and I'm sure there will be a nice sweet BA Stout like Old Rasputin XIV Anniversary in my future once I get home... while sifting through / safety checking all the candy.

 

Yeah the weather has been horrible all day in Bloomington as well. I hope it quiets the night down a little as I live pretty close to the party district down town.

 

We're doing a costumed bottle share with board games and the Evil Dead. My friends are eclectic nerds.

Home waiting for the little ones trick or treating enjoying Horseheads Pumpkin Ale

 

Same thing every year. Turn on the sprinklers, turn off the lights and drink beer in my basement for the night.

 

This is the first year that my kids are old enough to go out Trick or Treating without me. They're going out around the neighborhood with a bunch of other kids. My wife is working so I'm just going to stay home, hand out candy and relax with some great beer.

 

Not really a fan of Halloween so ignoring it and having excellent beers at home, and grilling baby back ribs (despite the 35F temp and 35 mph winds haha).

 

Going out to meet up with a few people at a small craft bar then back home to crash for the rest of the night. Probably too late now, but I can't believe I haven't gone to the store yet and loaded up on candy corn before it all disappears.

 

All you can drink... and keep the glass, I like adult Halloween
