I had a Handfarm batch 2 a week ago, and a batch 3 today. I know virtually nothing about this beer except its a wine-barrel aged saison. Basically, what I'd like to know is, what are the rough bottling dates for batch 2 and 3? I found a big difference in nose and flavour with them. If I had to guess, they are probably 8-10 months apart. Yea or nay?
Batch 1 - 1/13/2013 Batch 2 - 8/18/2013 Batch 3 - 1/19/2014 These are release dates, but I don't think it sits in the bottle too long before release. Since they don't bottle date, I'm not sure if there's any way to really tell when the bottles were filled.
Interesting, so only 5 months apart. The nose really has changed a lot from batch 2 to batch 3. Thanks for the info!
I agree. While I haven't had batch 2 and batch 3 side-by-side yet, I did have batch 1 and batch 2 side-by-side shortly after batch 2 released and the difference was really quite large. My preference on this beer is that I seem to enjoy it better when relatively "fresh."
