I think the main point is that a release before Thanksgiving is not the same type of release I was referring to in my initial post. If the releases were at random, limited to two per person, on random days, more people, especially locals, would have access to TH bottles. I think that SARA's bottle releases are a prime example of this and how effective of a method it is to making it the most fair. Of course, Jean can do the releases however he wants. It was merely a suggestion as to how to perhaps avoid the lines on weekend releases.

He does Shambolic releases silently as well as I See a Darkness (announced the same day) and during the week. These are both low bottle counts...200 for ISaD, I think Shambolic is similar. Shambolic took a little longer, 5-6 hours maybe, but ISaD was gone in under 2 hours. I actually got shutout after rushing home from work and loaded up my family to get there (I think I got there around 5.30pm and they open at 4). "Locals" depending on the definition. I'm 30 mins away and work every day. Many are in the same boat. A "silent" release of any Emptinesses (~400 bottles) on weekdays would pretty much guarantee that locals like me will never get any as even higher count, they are much more in demand. Weekend lines are better for releases and give more locals more chances.

A better way would be ticketing. Pass out a ticket for each bottle corresponding to the bottle count. Let people grab the tickets and they can return to pick up at opening or later in the day. Quicker lines, space people out, and people who get shutout know right away not to have to stand and wait for hours to leave empty handed. I don't stand in lines, but that's how I see it.

I have been saying that Tired Hands needs to ticket their releases. Sell them online between X and Y o'clock and then specify pick up times. The releases are a bit of a free for all even with the "bouncers". If you are 30th in line at 10 am then how are you 45th in line at 12pm? Because people wait in their cars or send someone ahead of time to get a spot in line and then there is no one to tell them that they are cutting in line. The "bouncers" are usually socializing in the front. Luckily the last few releases didn't sell out and the people were able to get back in line. I guess that will happen when beers are re-released. I really hope that they get that new facility open soon. It kinda sucks to miss out on their releases and to have paid all that money.
