...so much potential over the years with Puga Royale along with several other beers, hell, your sours were improving tremendously these last two years, but in general you turned into a bigger joke than ever these last couple of years. Killing your Barrel Roll Club today was probably the best thing ever for those of us who thought you would get your shit together which is unlikely.
All I ask is just date your beers! I think Betty ipa is good and is priced well but I am not buying an ipa that could be old or very old. I used to drink their barrel roll beers from time to time and loved them. At the price now I just pass because they haven’t impressed me that much recently and the price is at a premium. Overalll, I agree with your posts I kept thinking this brewery has potential and could be really good if they improved in a few areas. Instead they went the other way. Bummer.
For those not in the H24's membership, we just received the below letter. TL : DR: We have issues, are discontinuing the membership and Facebook group effective immediately. You'll get half the membership fee back since we haven't given you half the beers we promised, and some other trinkets. "Hello Barrel Roll club members, As you all know Hangar 24 brewery has been doing the barrel roll club membership program for years, have been producing delicious beers and met some amazing people like you along the way. It has been a great adventure in doing what we love to do; making great beers and want to thank you all for being a huge part of this journey. As much as all the success and achievements we enjoyed there are also challenges in the program mainly related to product quality, consistency and communication. We are sorry for all the inconveniences this might have caused, and we are working on permanently addressing these issues. We are currently working on improving the quality and consistency of our products through building effective QA/QC program and fine tuning the whole process from start to finish. Taking all things in to account we have decided to change the format of this program and want to announce that we are ending the barrel roll club membership effective immediately and the facebook group associated with it will be closed. We will continue to make barrel aged beers and would love to have your partnership in the future. Although the membership program is being discontinued, we very much appreciate what you have contributed to the program and do value your input and continuous companionship. In recognizing your contribution, we would like to invite you to join us at our brewery for an event that includes archive bottles sale, raffle tickets and other fun activities. This event is exclusively for club members and we would also want to give priority to you members in purchasing from our inventory list before we open it to the public. Details of this event and others will be announced very soon and even if you can’t join this event, we will send you a list of beers up for sale by email if you are interested in purchasing. While doing this we will be refunding your account of the balance for the rest of the year and if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us either by email, phone or in person. Again, thank you for the support this far and looking forward to the future with more innovative, enjoyable, quality and consistent products. Best regards, Hangar 24 Brewery "
I hope they go under and someone else takes over the space. It's insane to say but they are now one of the worst breweries in Redlands. I live in town, about 5 minutes from the tap room, and literally never go other than to pick up bottles. You know you fucked up when Ritual is a consistently better option.
Ritual is considered a “bad” brewery these days? I’m genuinely curious, how come you feel that way. I’ve generally had good experiences with their beer but it’s also been quite a while since I’ve had anything from them.
Their bigger BA stuff is great. Most of the standard-strength non-Belgian stuff is very bad. The venue is great though. They're also now across the street from a Bootlegger's tap room, which isn't local, but has better beer.
Puga Royale is a phenomenal beer. Betty is very good but they only date the bottles, not the cans so I rarely buy it.
This should have been done a long time ago. Everyone only cares about the limited Puga variants, and everything else in the memberships have been either subpar or infected. Hangar never gave the membership the attention it deserved, and hard to fault the employees when everyone hates working for them. Might as well scrap the entire barrel program and just sell the locals what they want - Orange Wheat and nothing else.
Tried Pugachev’s Cobra for the first time tonight because why the hell not? It was ok. Pretty good, but not spectacular. Hangar 24 can now cease to exist for all I care.
damn royale was in my bucket list, looks like that’s never going to happen now lol i did like hammerhead a lot tho
I hope not. H24 was one of first breweries here in the SoCal area to kinda get the craft beer scene going back 10+ years ago. I made the road trip several times when they first opened. Haven’t been in 6 years?
They will still release Royale and other Puga variants, but it will now move to the PugaDay releases.
