Anyone know when they will release Pugachev Royale again? That beer is easy Top 5 BA stout for me. So rich and smooth without being sweet like so many modern dessert/pastry beers.

Last release was 2018 and they said last year it wasn't gone forever but wasn't being released around the holidays as usual.

Last month their newsletter showed a bottle release of a few pugachev variants, but didn't mention royale.

Sign up for their newsletter, and that's probably the best way to find out .

Ownership really doesn't care about the barrel program and never has. With their club finally getting killed, I'm sure the barrel program is only going to become worse.

Given the facts that 1) members were complaining of infected beers right before H24 canceled the club; 2) H24 was over 2-months late to release the Q2 member beers when they canceled the club (no Q2/Q3/Q4 beers were ever released); and 3) H24 hasn't released any barrel-aged beers for about 10-months or so (aside from Pugachev's) despite having a couple of collabs in barrels for well over a year at this point (including one with Bottle Logic), I think it's safe to assume that they had massive infection issues with their barrel program (again) and that most everything has been dumped.

Of course, it could also be the rumor that the owner Ben Cook has been going through (or went through) a divorce with his wife, and that he was trying to de-value H24 (which they started together) in order keep her from getting more money. Who knows though...

They released like six different Puga variants last year, just no Royale.

It was openly known from day 1 of the club that ownership saw it as a waste of money. A divorce may have furthered that thought, but it was disliked by ownership from the start.

As I mentioned, aside from Pugachev's, they haven't released any barrel-aged beers in about 10-months. Go through Untappd and you can see that they were releasing roughly 3-5 BA beers per quarter for at least a few years prior to last year. Maybe the 2019 Pugachev's was somehow spared from infection or was in a different warehouse or something, but considering they had a bunch of beers aging in barrels since at least October 2018, and none of them have been released (aside from Pugachev's), it's more likely than not that they have been dumped.

Since there's no reason to dump good (or even passable) beer that could otherwise be sold (and H24 has no problem selling mediocre beer), most of the stuff was likely infected... although maybe their barrel house blew up, was sucked into an alternative reality, or one of their many former employees stole all the BA stuff and is selling it on the black market... I was just making a guess.

That was a nice surprise. Not that I would ever go to the redlands again, but I'd visit them when royale and their barrel roll offerings pop. Opening up before MT anaheim? lol. oh well. Patience.

For what it's worth, the H24 OC has also been in progress since well before May 2018. At least that's when Ben told me about it.

It also looks like H24 is only opening a bar/restaurant, it doesn't take much to do that. MT, on the other hand, is opening a BREWERY/bar/restaurant, which is more complicated with zoning and ABC laws. Also, it's Irvine vs. Anaheim/Disney, which are completely two different ballgames.

You'll be waiting a long time for Royale and other BR. If you want to drink a lot of Orange Wheat and American Light though...

I would assume that Irvine is way worse. Have you heard of The Irvine Company?

Looks like H24 OC is open for food right now. Should be serving their fresh beers on tap in a couple of weeks when they get the abc license to serve alcohol.
