Same way with me with Rum. As a senior in high school at the beach, I was reduced to feline-like digging holes in the sand to make nasty deposits. I still gag when I smell Rum. My friends still give me shit about that day.

If I'm starting again the following day with another big session, my friends and I will often kill off the hangover with a cocktail of our own creation, known as the 'Turbo Miller'. This basically involves taking a gulp from a bottle of miller, then topping it back up with Smirnoff ice. It's very easy to drink, doesn't taste that bad, and is enough to get you back on the wagon and forgetting your hangover.
We've also been known to have gin and tonic as a hangover breakfast, and we have 'turboed' many other drinks including various ciders, Guinness, any variety of macro lager.

On the more common occasions where there is no Sunday session, I'll usually either go with water, lucozade sport or Pepsi. Along with as much greasy food as I'm able for!

I got hammered in Puerto Rico when I was in the Marines, got sloppy drunk with a bunch of British Sailors. Bacardi 151 and cokes were like 35 cents, had to fly back to Camp Lejeune the next day, and I barfed in my helmet a good bit of the flight home. That was pretty lousy, and I had to have Burritos for dinner too, blah.

Biscuits & Gravy with two eggs(sunny-side up) and a hefty side of bacon. Crush that, and any beer after will do the trick.

I used to open a Bud and leave it on the night stand when I went to bed so it would be flat and room temp in the morning .Wake up and down it before getting out of bed .Worked well until I moved to Florida , first time I did it there I woke up started to down the beer and swallowed a mouthful of cockroaches . Projectile vomit all over the room. After that I switched to a quart of grape soda and scrambled eggs smothered in ketchup. Doesn't get rid of the hangover just helps rehydrate and get some food in your stomach.

I dont have a hangover beer, but a drink vatamin water. The fruit punch flavor called revive specifically. It has 100% vitamin B for the day in it. Vitamin B gives energy thus i assume boosting metabolism to flush out any alcohol or sluggishness left in you from the night before.

I'm going to second and even third drinking pedialyte. When I was playing hockey for a living this is what our trainers gave us on the long bus trip weekends with 3 games in 3 nights. (We snuck plenty of beers in too  ) always felt great the following day.

Whatever is left in the fridge. If I'm hung over, the last thing I want to do is go shopping.

Are you so sure? What make most sense to me is the metabolism of alcohol into acetaldehyde. Consuming alcohol inhibits the production of which, only until you stop drinking though.

Fact? Do you know what a fact is? That sounds more like a assumption.

"Fact" would depend on if there is even a problem to begin with.

It's usually a bloody mary for me - if I'm going beer it just has to be something different than the beer that caused the hangover

While you're right that dehydration is a major contributor to hangover symptoms, a hangover is a lot more complicated than that. Alcohol decreases the liver's ability to make glucose, which is the major energy source for the brain. Alcohol also causes breakdown of the stomach lining (gastritis) and promotes heartburn. Alcohol disrupts REM sleep, even in small amounts. Also, most alcoholic beverages have trace amount of toxins like methanol which in larger amounts may also contribute to symptoms. There are probably other factors as well.

This is probably why hangover "cures" or prevention strategies don't always work or, because everyone's individual biology is a little different, work differently for different people.

You don't suppose the water in a couple of pints of beer has anything to do with having to urinate after drinking a few, do you?

Going 1:1 large glass of water with each beer I drink will keep the headache/nausea at bay. If I am going to crack one the next morning, which hardly seems to work with little kids, it's going to be an IPA.

There are two ways to avoid a hangover:

    (1) Don't start drinking; or

    (2) Don't stop drinking.

I have often thought that "degree of hangover" should be one of the things we rate beers on. (of course we would have to revisit our reviews the next day) "How did you feel the next day?" is equally important to me as the appearance, smell, taste, etc. of a beer...
