Happenings in Casper

Now on the Growler station at Liquor Shed, Odell Perle White IPA and Alaskan Gold Creek American Blonde Ale. Sounds like a flavourful Blonde and worthy IPA.

 

Just saw this on Wyoming State Brewing's FB page:

"Huzzah! Come to The World Famous Wonder Bar this Friday August 8th and try the Middle Platte Braggot we made for the Middle Platte Renaissance Festival.

Pirates, wenches, fairies and the king and queen may be seen at the braggot unveiling. There will also be a costume contest and prizes will be awarded so get into the spirit of Medieval Times and dress to impress!"

I think I'll wait to try it tomorrow, after the madness.

 

The Braggot is on and good. Sitting in tanks, Barleywine, 1/2 in clear tanks, 1/2 in WY Whiskey barrels. Wyoming State is bringing their A game thanks to Ty, the master brewer!

 

Odell Fifty Niner and Trellis Garden Ale are now in town.

 

I was at Wonder Bar for a meal and a beer yesterday. Ty, the master brewer of Wyoming State Brewing pulled me aside to sample a couple of beers in the tanks. #1 is a Belgian Pale that's going to get a butt load of ripe apricots. W/o the Apricots, the yeast was already working its magic. #2 is a Barleywine. A real smile came to my face when I tasted it; we both agreed that this has great potential. It's being split in half.(I mentioned this before) 1/2 will be aging and then will be served this December as part of the 10th anniversary of Wyoming State. The other half will be aged in Wyoming Whisky barrels with oak chips.

The next brew coming out though will be a Whisky Stout. I can't wait to give that one a go.

 

Deschutes Black Butte XXVI is on the Growler station at Liquor Shed. I think I'll give it a go. Other interesting brews as well. I'll go ahead and post a pic of the chalkboard:

 

New batch of imports coming to Liquor Shed 1 week from today. Tight lipped Jacob won't say what but they will be the first time they have seen the shelves in Casper.

 

A bunch of new beers came to Casper today at Liquor Shed. Mostly Belgian brews but some very nice German, Italian, and Japanese.























Some overlap. Sorry.

Update on the new beers on the shelves I posted pics of...more than half are gone! It appears Casper has some beer drinkers with discerning tastes.

 

I had a bottle of it in Vegas in June. I didn't care for it but, I bought another bottle, just to make sure. Under $10 it twas; the La Folies are +$18.
