Happy Friday the 13th

    Happy Friday the 13th, a date I look forward to whenever it decides to pop up! Anybody celebrate the occasion with special beers? Avery used to make a series they called the Demons of Ale (Samael's Ale, The Beast, & Mephistopheles Ale). Haven't seen them in a while, but on past Friday the 13th's I've drank all 3, which often ended up as a bit of a horror show! Anyone have any Friday the 13th beers lined up for tonight? Cheers!

    Tweak is the mephistopholes stout, although I remember the abv to be a wee bit stronger.but this version has coffee.

    The Grey Lodge Pub in Philly (unfortunately closed now) use to have an beer event every Friday the 13th: Friday the Firkenteenth.

    I did not attend every one of these events but I always had a great time when I did.

    Once the Grey Lodge Pub closed in Nov. 2020 due to the pandemic economics, I hoped that another local pub (or brewery taproom) would carry on this tradition but sadly none have.

    I miss the days of Avery and their allocation to my area. Uncle Jacob's is still one of the top BA stouts I've ever had. The Demon Ales were solid too.

    Nothing special here, but I'll look around for something that might correlate to being spooky.

    Not drinking anything scary today but I am trying to drink all beers while wearing an old hockey goalie mask.
