I am heading out from GA at the end of the month to Colorado. I'm driving and wondered if anyone had suggestions on any hard to find / recommended beers I might pick up on the way through Tennessee Missouri and Kansas. Thanks

If you can't get it in GA, Yazoo! Sue is brewed and bottled in Nashville, and is well-regarded.

Missouri/Kansas is home to Boulevard (Smokestack Series)

Edit: if you can route your trip to snag W. Kentucky/Bowling Green, Shenanigan's is a good bottle shop/growler station that might not take you too far off course.

Hey, sorry. I forgot to say *why* you should consider that re-route. Kentucky gets FFF, among some other goodies. But FFF should sway you by itself.

Shenanigans in Bowling Green does not have a growler station. Their fancier/upscale sister store, Wino's, does though (however, they don't make everything on tap available for growler fills).

Liquor Barn has a growler station and also has the best can/bottle selection in Bowling Green.

As someone who isn't a 3 Floyds fan, I probably wouldn't bother making a detour to drive through Bowling Green. But maybe that's just me. We get very limited amounts of local, state brews. And we really don't get much beers distributed here that you can't get elsewhere. If you do make the trip with 3 Floyds in mind, be aware that while Bowling Green does get 3 Floyds stuff, their stuff hits the shelves only every few weeks and the bottles go quickly. And Zombie Dust comes less frequently than that and goes the quickest. There is no guarantee you will be able to find what you are looking for.

Lexington and Louisville would be much more desireable stops, but are way out of the way (3 hours or so from Nashville).

On the way from Nashville to St. Louis I've found Roof Brothers Wine and Spirits in Paducah, KY to be a good stop. Every time I've driven through they've been filling growlers of 3 Floyds and had a good bottle selection from them as well, in addition to Prairie, AtG, Jester King, JP, Founders, etc. If you're heading from Atlanta to Nashville, St. Louis and onward to Colorado I'm not sure if Bowling Green will have anything you won't find in Paducah, or other destinations on your route. If you're lucky Yazoo will some Embrace the Funk beers available while you're in Nashville, but definitely try Sue while in town. In St. Louis Perennial and Side Project are must hits of course.

Yazoo Pale Ale is one of our (TN.) best locals.

Saw Works in Knoxville has some excellent ales, but Growlers are the only bottled options. I love Yazoo brews and there is some good ale from Big River in Chattanooga.
