I'm not a big hunter but I do like to try new things out. Still, I'm yet to have every seen a KBS on the shelf--I would think that's the hardest to find in MA. Would have liked to pick up some BCBS Coffee, but it was pretty much impossible without going on a hunt and I had no car that week (never mind the unhelpful snow storm). But here's my haul yesterday: BCBS 4, Black Chocolate Stout 4, Peche Mortel, Engelszell Gregorius plus a Samuel Smith Holiday Pack (3+glass) and a Victory mixed 12 for good measure. That's 2 rares off the list plus one semi-rare (BCBS, but I already had a couple of bottles and it's not going to be rare much longer) and one I wanted to try but haven't seen (Black Chocolate, not that it's rare but not common in MA). Left Barrel-Aged Framinghammer on the shelf--hoping to pick up one of the "flavors" tomorrow instead.

Anything from Cantillon. I've got a chance to try Fou' Foune on tap next month, though!

Coffee cake wasn't in barrels, but was only available at Westbrook on tap. They brewed the coffee locally and put it directly in the kegs of Mexican Cake, which helped to soften the spice burn on the back end. My wife and I each had a pint at the BA MC release last summer and it was AMAZING!! The regular MC should be released again this May and the BA Cakes (rumored to be bourbon and tequila) will likely be ready later this year.

I've been looking all over for the Narragansett Coffee Milk Stout, but it's managed to evade me thus far.

That's my big daddy right now. Wanted to get one for a bottle tasting at Huna Day this year. Offered Huna 1:1 just for a regular and got nothing. Figured that was a fair trade...don't know what you had to give up to get it in 5 minutes. Congrats!

Thanks for the humor....we've had Bells in Florida for what seems like forever... and this beer still eludes many of us to this day.... myself included.

If it makes you feel better Hopslam is overrated.

If the price was the same, what would you prefer... Hopslam or SN Hoptimum?

I miss out on hopslam every year, it seems. Caught it at a bell's party at a bar twice.

Blind taste test, I'd say Hoptimum would win. I understand lots of people LOVE Hopslam and that's their prerogative. I regret using the term "overrated", when it's purely a matter of my personal taste. Then again I'm not a huge fan of regular Bourbon County so maybe I'm the one with faulty taste buds.

As far as the hardest beer to find, it's got to be between one of the Toppling Goliath stouts or a BB Vanilla Bean Dark Lord. The day I have any of these will be one for the ages.

Rather have Bells Oracle than Hopslam all day long. I know that's not what you asked but, fwtw.

A bunch of BCBCS and BCBW singles

I got 2 more bottles recently in a big trade. Message me with stuff you'd be willing to deal for one of them. I'm pretty flexible.

I won't trade for it because apparently it has a trade value of a little over 3 million dollars.

I've had it twice this year, and I felt the maple flavor was faded and the beer was either ludicrously overrated or was far better fresh. Now Blushing Monk is worth whatever you have to give up for it.

yeah, this is probably mine too. It's just a matter of timing. Last summer there was a day when my wife was driving from New Hampshire, back to the Adirondacks. I did a little math, figured out that she would be passing through Montpelier right around the time the Lawson's truck arrived and called her up on the road. She arrived at Hunger Mt. co op early and waited with a few others. When it came there were about 20 bottles (limit of two). She said they were on the shelf for about 2 or 3 minutes. Pretty good beer...
