Is this hitting shelves? Sounds like a massive stout. Release is april 2015.

Let me know how this is. Trickery was incredible, I would expect this one to be as well.

The release went very well. People were able to get 2 bottles if you went to the back of the line and received another ticket. Solid offering by Hardywood.

Solid beer and a great event by Hardywood. One of the smoothest releases I've been too.

They were trying their hardest to prevent people from going to the back of the line and getting another ticket. Guess some folks were able to cheat the system

The guys handing out tickets said once you put your bottle in the car, you were welcome to get back in line for another ticket/bottle.

Talked to a guy who went to the release and he said there was no problem getting multiples.

    This isn't true.

Source: I got more than one and talked to multiple employees about it before doing it. Earlier in the day it did not seem like they would allow it but there were only 200 or so people in the line at 2PM so they started letting people do it.

That said, this was the smoothest and most fun release I have been to... the ticket system was the perfect way to prevent line cutting, the beer is amazing, and everyone was in good spirits. It was a blast.

the girl that seemed in charge (I can never remember her name...) was the only one saying you could not get back into line and she eventually changed her tune once 2pm rolled around and they still had over half the tickets available. a small handful of people (maybe 5-10) cheated by getting a 2nd ticket before they got their first bottle. once HWP realized they ended that practice and told everyone that you could get back into line once you had gotten your bottle.

agree with what others said about being a very relaxed line with no issues. didn't hear 1 complaint the whole time

I did not attend the release but following the posts on a few local pages I am active in during the day on Sat and heard the same thing with how impressed attendees were with how smooth the release ran and then those people who showed up earliest were able to go back through for another.

Going into the Foolery release, I think many thought it would be an epic event and it probably was but with all the hype surrounding it I also think it may have "scared" away many casual craft locals / hunters with only having 500 bottles available and if they did not show up early to grab a spot in line then they may miss out. Of course the serious whale hunters showed up super early (by 7am was the first in line I saw) to wait and I heard the last ticket (#500) was not handed out until shortly after 2pm. With such a small bottle limit it makes no sense to send any to distro so allowing a second bottle for some was the right thing to do once HW saw the crowd had thinned out.

I know many big releases locally have had their share of headaches in the past year but HW has it down right! Any brewery, locally or otherwise, should look to HW first when planning their own big releases. They guys know how to market (they do have MBAs after all) and while they are releasing some of the most sought after bottles seemingly every other week so far in 2015 they have the system of releasing them perfected. Keep up the good work, HW!

the last ticket was given out around 3pm. anyone in line at 2pm could have gotten in line for a 2nd bottle if they so chose. some of the very earliest arrivals could have gotten back in line for a 3rd if they were quick about it

The gal with the clipboard and ear piece and the shorter guy that handed out the tickets seemed to be adamant about one per person. If they changed their mind they didn't seem to broadcast it because by the time i got my bottle at #154 I saw people being turned away from trying to get another bottle. Once I put my dog in the car and came back to talk to a buddy I did see that a couple folks were able to get another ticket

I was #154 so when I was still in line I saw some of the first in line getting turned away from trying to get another ticket. I didn't realize that she had changed her tune until the very end when I was getting ready to leave. That being said I just thought those that got back in line were able to fool (pun intended) the folks managing the back of the line.

Totally agree that it was a great event. My only complaint was it was so windy!

When I saw people being turned around was when I was still by the other bar not the warehouse. Good on you for asking
