Hardywood KCM

I would guess 700 allotments so far including people already through and those in line. Anyone coming later in the day should have no problems, if I had to guess I'd say it makes it to tomorrow.

 

Got there at 4, waited maybe 6-7 mins to get my allotment. Easy.

 

no line and easy in and out at just now. They still have plenty.

Made a bunch of stops today and their citra ipa was one of the better beers I had. Cool brewery/homebrew shop.

 

Any word on Apple Brandy GBS?

 

None this year, there was not enough AB barrels to do trickery and AB GBS.

Rum GBS is damn tasty though.

 

Nice! Did you happen to swing by Triple Crossing for their release? I may try to swing by Tues if they still have Falcon Smash and/or Battle Creek left.

You should be fine on Falcon Smash. Outside shot Battle Creek being available. And don't sleep on Paranoid Aledroid. Wish more breweries in RVA would make sessionable pale wheat ales like that.

 

Went there first. The 3 beers I tried were good. My favorite hop is mosaic so Battle Creek was probably my favorite. Def worth the stop.

 

KCM now Sold Out.....Will see limited distribution in VA, DC and Philly.

 

Kudos to Hardywood for yet another good release.

I enjoy that they make enough bottles that if you get there at 5am and brave the elements, or just casually come up the next morning, there is enough to go around.

Having leftovers from previous releases, a nice tap list, food trucks and efficient line handling were big perks. A lot of other breweries could learn from Hardywoods methods at handling releases.

 

Had an awesome day in RVA! too bad those ABC agents kept walking around...

 

Those of us that went to the KYXmas/AB shit show last year would say that Hardywood learned from Hardywoods methods of handling releases.

But yeah, this one was handled great, anytime you can stroll in with no wait later in the day, is a perfect release.

For anyone looking this has landed. Seems to have evaporated immediately but word is some places in the 757 are getting shipments of bottles today. Have a friend who snagged a bottle in PA too so it's definitely out there.

 

Better scurry - TW near me had 6 cases Wednesday morning circa 10:00 and they were blown - I mean cardboard broken down and a new display up - by the time I got there at 1:00. I did share a chuckle with the cash register dude over the fact that about 12 cases of BBGBS still sat, unloved, in the middle of the store, where a mere two years ago that would have been mowed down. I have hopes of snagging KCM in nonchalant fashion in 2018......
