    For the first time since earning a perfect 100 score in Beer Advocate Magazine and winning bronze at the 2012 World Beer Cup in the herb and spice beer category, and being independently rated one of the top 3 milk stouts in the world on BeerAdvocate.com (12 reviews, as of 11/7/2012), Hardywood Gingerbread Stout will make its annual debut. Brewed with local ginger and local honey, this beer showcases the terroir of central Virginia and warms the spirit during a cold yet happy time of year. Special gift packs and schwag will be available, as well as 750 ml corked bottles, growler fills, glasses of beer and special Randalls.
    Event Schedule:
    • 10AM - 12PM: Bottle Presale. Bottles (limit 4), gift packs and merchandise will be for sale to go, while allocated supplies last.
    • 12PM - 2PM: Go check out Center of the Universe Brewing's Grand Opening Celebration: http://www.facebook.com/events/485495068148737/
    • 2PM: Gingerbread Stout bottles, gift packs, growler fills, and merchandise will be available. Food trucks and live music will be on hand for your enjoyment.
    • 5PM: Zep Replica performs
    • 8:45PM: Last call
    New Details (as of Nov. 8):
    > Presale of bottles, gift packs, and merchandise will occur on-site from 10AM - 12PM (or until allocated supplies run out).
    > The brewery tasting room will be open from 2PM - 9PM, as planned.
    > Due to high demand and finite supply, customers will be limited to 4 bottles of Gingerbread Stout

    Any possible way someone wants to hook me up with one of them there gift packs? I have no idea if i have the ammo for such an outrageous offer but we will see!


    ...i should probably find out what is in the gift pack first. Im a suck for gift packs, they just sound so pleasing.

    I am going to try my best to road trip up there with some other BAs. I have to work for a few hours starting at 2am that Saturday, but then I am game!

    How does the 10am presale work, you pre-buy the bottles so you can just walk in the shop at 2pm and pick them up?

    When I was at Hardywood yesterday, I gathered they will be selling bottles to go during the pre-sale, so you get your four and leave (this takes place between 10-12). Then they close and regroup, and reopen for the "party" where they will have food trucks and GBS on draft. I could be completely wrong and things could change, but this is the info I got yesterday. BTW I will be cracking some bottles at my place (5 mins. from the brewery) afer the pre-sale and before the reopening. So any BA's that want to stop by and drink, feel free to BM me.

    I too will probably be grabbing some bottles and heading down to mekong or somewhere else downtown. Come celebrate my birthday with me!

    I would love to try this and or the Hardywood Pumpkin. Anyone interested in a trade BM me. Right now I have Backwoods Bastard, Fat Heads Head Hunter, Hoppin Frog. Can also get some FFF such as Dreadnaught and Arctic Panzer Wolf.
