Hardywood Trickery

I have no confirmed knowledge but Oct 29th would be a safe bet although it could be earlier in the month. Last year's release was on Halloween most likely since that fell on a Saturday. 2014 release was Oct 11th.

 

I think 10/29 is a very safe bet. Related note, I thought there would have been another Ruse release by now - I emailed Hardywood to ask and never got a response.

It's always been the Saturday of Halloween so no reason to think anything different right?

Brewery is adding the event right now. Oct 29th is confirmed.

 

Correct. From descriptions of the past 2 years, Trickery was aged for only 5 months in '14 while the '15 and this year's batch are both 8 months aged.

 

Super stoked, will definitely be going up again for this.

 

Whet time do people normally start lining up for big hardywood releases? I'm considering driving down for a trip and would like to get there early enough to be in and out in possibly 30 mins?

 

Typically they are fairly relaxed, especially with Trickery hitting limited distro in the RVA area last year. I showed up a weekend after last year and think I still was able to get bottles, but my memory could be wrong. (That and we have no idea bottle counts or limits right now, so its difficult to speculate).

 

They definitely made a whole heck of a lot more of the 2nd batch than the 1st, but I thought it was still just as good.

 

I thought B2 was better than B1 and I feel like I have heard that a lot. Can't wait to try B3!

 

There is a great metal/hardcore show the next night at Hardywood for anyone who will still be in the area.

 

Last year was absolutely crazy. I figured I would be able to roll up around 3:30/4:00 and the line would have died down to where I would not have to wait too long and with it being 2 hours since they opened. Boy what I wrong. The line was still half way down Overbrook ending in front of the metal works building. I heard still over an hour wait. I just kept on driving by. If I had waited until 5:30/6:00 I think I would have been already with little wait but I was in town running a few errands from an hour away and could not wait around.

 

Do you remember if it sold out that Saturday? I know this year Foolery lasted to Sunday. Not sure if they are the similar batch sizes though.

 

It did. I looked back at posts from last year and there were 10 or so cases that carried over to Sunday. They sold out at the brewery 30 mins after opening. Limits were set at 4pp

 

Who's playing?

 

I haven't been able to find details re: the 29th ...are there any at this point? I may be in town for work so am interested in seeing if I can plan around this a bit. Thanks!
