For their 30th Anniversary, Harpoon is releasing a 30 pack of 15 different beers, two of each. It includes the following:
    1986 – Harpoon Ale
    1989 – Octoberfest
    1993 – Harpoon IPA
    1998 – Harpoon Dark
    2003 – Oatmeal Stout
    2008 – Leviathan IPA
    2012 – El Triunfo
    2012 – Hoppy Blonde
    2013 – Citra Victorious
    2014 – Take 5
    2014 – The Long Thaw
    2015 – Hoppy Adventure
    2016 – Sweet Spot
    2016 – Flannel Friday
    2016 – Interrobang

The price I saw at the store was $43, which was a bit off putting before realizing what is in this pack. Four of them are from the Barrel series, and then Interrobang is an 18% stout that is seeing release in 22oz bottles this year. Not a bad way to experience some one offs that have received praise.

    Agreed!

I think $43 is not even THAT much more than many other cases... for instance, I'm pretty sure a case of the SN Beer Camp was more than that, since each 12-pack was like $24 if I recall correctly? Moreover, this is 30 beers, compared to most craft cases which is 24 bottles... so this might actually be cheaper

Very cool! Dropping $43 on Harpoon is a tough call, despite that the price isn't horrible based on what you're getting. I'm thinking this would be great to split with a friend. I'd gladly spend half that amount to try all 15 beers. I just don't know that I need two of each one.

Harpoon may not be a sexy brewery, but the value is there. I'll likely pick one up if I see it. I believe the Dark is only available at the brewery these days, so there's that as well.

I didn't think I'd ever say this but I wish I was within Harpoons distribution footprint..

That's really cool. Probably won't buy because I haven't had anything from them that really blew me away, but cool nonetheless.

Any idea when this is supposed to be available? Sounds really interesting.

I realized the OP said he saw it in a store. I was just at one and didn't see it. So there's at least one store in MA that doesn't have it right now. Whether it's coming or has already gone I didn't ask.

Did you give their beer finder a try?

This is awesome. I am a fan of Harpoon Brewery and have tried many of those beers on the list. The guys at Harpoon were some of three nicest people you will ever meet. I have a special attachment to Take 5 because I had tried this beer before it was released and I gave my opinion on the spot. Leviathan would be my ultimate favorite beer. It is totally worth the price for its history.

I would definitely get this. And I haven't had a Harpoon beer in at least a year or two.

I guess I shouldn't take too much credit, it was mostly copied and pasted from the website, but thank you

That's how I am justifying the purchase to some extent. Beer Camp actually cut down to a 12-pack of 6 different beers this year for $30, when previously it was 12 different for the $20-24 range. While all of these are not to the standard of SN BC , the rereleases of the limited Barrel Series must mean those are good enough for them to want to remake.

I actually have never gotten to try Dark because of this, and am looking forward to having it!

The beer finder is accurate to the extent that the store I saw it at was listed online. It was a store in MA too, so they may be getting it first, but there is no indication on their website that this wouldn't be available all throughout their distribution footprint.

I did not. And Table and Vine is where I was at, and didn't see it. Maybe it sold out, maybe I'm an idiot. I always have to have my wife help me find things since I'm kind of bad at it. She gets mad.

$1.43 a beer is a good price. I dont know if PA will see this as a case is 24 or 12 large bottles. 30 might be out of the boundry of the state laws. I drank the IPA many years ago and it was good back then, today I dont know if it will still be a beer I enjoy. I will grab a case if I see it.

    Enjoy

Edit.... the beer finder does not show this bee within 10 miles of me and that is withing 10 miles of Philadelphia.

That is not an issue in PA. I have seen lot of folks walk out of my local beer distributor with 30 packs (e.g., Bud Light, etc.).

    Cheers!

The way i look at it is that around here, Heineken is $35 a case (24 bottles) so people gladly buy that. $43 is not so bad. I checked the beer finder and nothing within 50 miles around me so far. Maybe ill see it but most likely i wont. .
