I am just getting into aging beers. I have started a very small collection and I would like to know if I am headed in the right direction. Has anyone aged the following with any success? If so, how long? I know every different beer will have a different cellar time.

Hell On High Quad Bock - Rinkuškiai Alaus Darykloje

Werewolf - Rinkuškiai Alaus Darykloje (Belgian Dark Ale)

Crazy Brewski Imperial Pils - Rinkuškiai Alaus Darykloje (Euro Strong Lager)

Black Boss Porter - BOSS Browar Witnica S.A. (Baltic Porter)

Bretticent - Wicked Weed Brewing (Saison/ Farmhouse Ale)

Serenity - Wicked Weed Brewing (American Wild Ale)

Is Duvel by Brouwerij Duvel Moortgat NV (Belgian Strong Pale Ale) worth aging or better fresh?

    What about:
Ashtray Heart by Evil twin brewing (Russian Imperial Stout)

    Ovila saison by Sierra Nevada

Xingu Black Beer by Cervejaria Sul Brasileira (schwarzbier)

All ours taste are different and subjective. Only real way to know if aging those is right for you would be to have fresh and put one away for a later time to see which you prefer. Most Belgians can stand some aging though.

Not an expert by any stretch of the imagination when it comes to cellaring beer, but one thing I do know is ALWAYS try it fresh first, to give you that initial perspective. Then try cellaring some as you go to see where it takes the flavor profile.
Sometimes you'll have a success, sometimes you'll have a failure.
Try it out with several bottles and open one every couple of months or so.

I've had all of them fresh. They are all good fresh, except for the ABV in the hell on high and the crazy brewski wasn't hidden well at all. There is a serious boosy sweetness in both that I don't care for. I was hoping that since they are Belgian style, they would age well and mellow out. I was really hoping someone would see my thread that had tried aging some of the beers I'd mentioned and could give me specific feedback. Thank you for the insight so far though.

No experience with these specific beers (I only started a cellar myself a few months back) but as a general rule, yes, some age will help the booziness mellow out.

I don't know if that pils should get any older though.

Wicked Weed's stuff in bottles is fairly new. No one has aged them.

Aging a pilsner, even a bigger ABV one, has always lead to a bottle of paper from my experiences. A beer that thin really can't hold up to much time.

I would not recommend aging Xingu - a 4.5% abv Schwarzbier is meant to drink fresh.

Wondering what you experienced with these. I have had them both fresh and aged. Did a side by side with Bretticent and got some interesting results which I posted about but got no responses.

I would think a more citrusy hoppy beer like Duvel would not be good to age.

I retract my previous statement on Duvel. I was just reading part of the book Vintage Beer about malts and Patrick states that even though it doesn't have roasted malt, Duvel is a great aging beer.

Aged both of the WW bottles. First run of serenity and first of bretticent. Both will pick up considerable fuck at a year compared to fresh. I have also had two bottle of bretticent gush like crazy after that time frame so be prepared. If you like the dry barnyard funk then your all set.

Not sure but I have both hell on high and crazy brewski and am aging for a while like 5 years because I've read nothing but bad taste fresh but being they are naturally fermented it should age well

Seconding @jmdrpi Xingu is one of my go-to session beers and easily my favorite schwarz/black lager and it does not age well.
