Has anyone tried beer soap?

    Just for fun I looked into soap made with beer. I had seen it on the Dogfish http://www.dogfish.com/store/cool-junk/dfh-beer-soap.htm and Founders http://foundersbrewing.com/store/handmade-beer-soap/ sites but never really gave it much thought. So I did a google search and found a few breweries including the aforementioned ones who sell bars of soap as well as soap companies who have a variety of options with different beers

    yeah I have had some from Dogfish Head, Guinness, and Yards. Dogfish and Yards was pretty good.

    I read on a few sites that even though Dogfish says it uses 60 Minute in the description, that it is actually 90 Minute. Have you heard this?

    I bought some off of Amazon. It worked pretty well and had a nice lather. I have used several different versions with no complaints. Smells tasty but does not leave you smelling like beer, my wife says I smell nice after using.

    Fair enough. Punkin would smell really nice and I do like things pumpkin related.

    I saw a bunch on Amazon as well. Which ones did you get and which were yours/your wife's favorites?

    Havent used it, but the Breakfast Stout soap at Founders smelled awesome

    I bet! I like to use stemware as extras for trades as well as surprise beer. Soap would be a fun twist. Which ones have you tried?

    I got the Victory Hop Devil, The Punkin Ale, and the Yards Pale as Christmas presents (since my family knows Im a craft beer guy I tend to get a lotta themed gifts). The Punkin and Hop Devil one were pretty good, but even the Yards was pretty good.

    The Guinness was a souvenir from Ireland, not particularly special.

    I'd most likely go with Punkin. I see a lot of soap makers use Extra Stout and not as many use Draught.

    I've used the Stone Smoked Porter Vanilla soap. That stuff smelled awesome.

    I've used some, as given as a gift from others... :wink: It's fine but it doesn't really lather, and it does the job.
