Has anyone tried beer soap?

    I've used the Founders soap. It had an okay scent and lathered well, but it has small chips in it that looked and felt like uncooked oatmeal flakes. They weren't scratchy on the body, but they just seemed strange to be found in a bath soap, not unlike the pumice that you get in some working-man's hand soaps.

    Was it the Breakfast Stout soap? As well as being a main part of the beer flavor profile, did it act as an exfoliator? I've used a couple pumice soaps before. It wouldn't bother me.

    It must have been, but I don't recall for sure. The website store describes a Dirty Bastard and a Centennial version too, but they don't seem to have oatmeal in the description of them. http://foundersbrewing.com/store/handmade-beer-soap/

    Yeah I would go ahead and say it was Breakfast Stout. Apparently it should give off more of a coffee smell, malt smell for Dirty Bastard and hop smell for Centennial. I like all of those beers and might try one or two of them.

    I bought soap, face cream and other girls stuff made with beer for my wife in my last trip to prague. She uses regularly (thanks god cause they weren´t cheap). I just use regular soap, don´t even know which one.

    Any thoughts on beer soap. I kind of like them but the price is a bit high. I've used Cigar City Jai Ale and Surly Abrasive soap and I liked them although they didn't really exhibit a lot of beer notes.

    I would think IPAs and certain Belgian ales would lend themselves well.
