    *facepalm...
    Just kidding...
I am a fan of almost any beer that reflects the BJCP style guidelines. I think the "rita" brews push the envelope in an a bad direction. But it's all in what you like. Some people think the few of us that homebrew are crazy for devoting a day to brewing something that they can go out and buy much easier... but we likes it!

Heck, I drink craft beer. Been doing so for years, and I see nothing wrong with the "Rita" brand of beverages. Not craft? Who cares! It's not craft and not marketed as such. It's marketed as a flavored malt beverage and they taste good considering what it is. I'm not saying I would ever drink one over a Two Hearted or Ten Fidy, but in the right time and place, hell yea i would knock some back. (OP, if the strawberry is too sweet, try the raspberry. Not nearly as sweet)

My wife and I will pick these up when we go camping. I call the little cans "shots" because after I have had plenty of beer around the fire I tend to slam one in a shot fashion. They're fun for what they are and I agree they taste more like wine coolers than anything else.

I have found that when serving these they are best served 50/50 with the lime a rita. All of the flavors. My wife and most of her girlfriends prefer this as is tends to knock down the sweetness of the Strawberry, Mango and Raspberry. But to answer your question the Mango is the sweetest and probably my least favorite flavor. Raspberry is the best.

An AB-Inbev employee named Peter Wolfe post here from time to time. The last time this came up he posted that the "Ritas" aren't brewed for BMC drinkers let alone craft drinkers. They are brewed for folks who don't drink beer at all.

A new 6-pack shop in PA sold these as slushies and the wife got one. It was pretty good.

They might technically be a "malt beverage", but one sip of one and its obvious they aren't beer at all. Its not a fruit flavored beer, it has no resemblence to beer. Its an alcoholic fruit drink.

The 'Ritas are the category leader in malt beverage right now. They are not considered beer (which makes the question asked on BA odd). For what it is, they aren't bad. Just not something I'd care to drink.

They are rated on BA, whether they should be or not: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/29/110748/?ba=zestd

I have sampled all of them and the Mango was the worst one IMO.

My sister is a fan of all of them, but Mango isn't her favorite (strawberry is). The only one I even like is the original lime one, and I drink them 50/50 with Modelo on ice.

If this was brewed by DFH everyone would be all over it. Hows this any different than their Pear flavored Pils?
