Has anyone tried racking form a fermentation bucket under CO2 pressure?

I do all my transfers of fermented beer as close to anaerobic as possible. I have a couple of fermentation buckets, but I don't currently use them because Carboys make it easy to rack beer using CO2 pressure, and I have never tried to pressurize a bucket. I think it is possible. Most of the transfer work can be done by allowing the beer to flow out through siphoning action - seems you'd only need minimal positive CO2 pressure to match the outflow of beer. I am actually considering doing some tests using water and a bucket with a bottling spigot. If I can easily transfer water as a test by pumping CO2 into the airlock hole I might consider using buckets again for fermentation. I am wondering if anyone else on BA has considered or is actually doing CO2 pressured transfers using buckets.

As long as you can get a good seal with a way to pump the CO2 in, I dont see why you cant do that on any container. I did it on a barrel.

I once used a cpvc fitting glued into a hole I drillled into the bucket lid that would accept a carboy cap. Then it worked just like any carboy transfer with CO2.
