I don't have a beer budget, but I stay away from those $20+ 4-pks of NEIPAs.

Should spend less. Still spending a lot.

Since turning to the dark side and going solo at the end of '20, I have more beer than I actually drink. Cellaring, having beer on hand for guests, myself, the occasional BYOB and besides w/o someone policing what's being bought why not have a variety depending on mood or meal.

Yes, but it's still PBR. I would give up drinking beer before I resorted to buying 30 packs of PBR.

Beer has risen, so the budget has gotten bigger. I do try to control it with some Genny Cream/PBR 30 packs thrown in.

Most of my local breweries have increased their prices by $2/4 pack. Maybe I've been lucky, but that's not enough of a bump to change my consumption habits.

Impacted: YES. I am a singles-hunter and an Untapdd ticker, and I've noticed that everything is up around 10% beer-wise unless its a local. so I've moved off of the 5-6-7$ singles of 16oz and am starting to collect more of the local $1.99 12oz singles of stuff I haven't tried.

I also am trying to stay below a threshold, usually $20 on a trip. To me, $20-ish seems acceptable for a 'frivolous' side hobby, a non-necessity.

    YMMV.

We can't hate something that makes us physically ill?

(whether it be PBR or TS  are you really a teenage girl in disguise, my friend?)

Variety 6-packs all the way, baby! If I find a special bottle for a good price, I'll get it, but my budget remains at $12/week.

I cut back a little been getting some nice stuff mix in with the 30 pack of PBR or Hams
When I want to have more than 1 or 2 nice stuff than bring on a couple of the cheapo.

But what about them $34+ 4-pks of slushies?

To answer the thread question more directly, though, I actually keep a spreadsheet of monthly expenses and split out my beer expenses because it is a significant proportion of my spending, and it's not measurably more this past 6 months than the previous, or even years' past over the same spans of time.

However, I tend to spend a good chunk of beer money on travel, limited release and proxy situations, which is always at an even greater premium than craft averages already are, and that really hasn't changed much outside of the most extreme circumstances (Side Project and Hill Farmstead releases edging ever closer to the absurdly high bars that Toppling Goliath and Anchorage have already set).

@dpc166 beat me to it. I always refused to pay the 'inflated' prices for four packs of NEIPA type beers and I still do.

    Cheers!
