Lagunitas has been my favorite brewery for the last 10 or so years. When they sold to Heineken I was concerned, but nothing really changed – at first. Currently, I haven’t seen Undercover for a while. Prices went up on Brown Sugar, Stoopid & Sumpin. But what really makes me feel like things have changed is Waldo. It was my favorite beer & the story (as well as that of Undercover) made me feel like Lagunitas was one of us. This year, Waldo costs more for 4 beers than it did for 6 beers last year. Hoptimum costs the same as last year. Its sad but I feel like the Lagunitas I knew & loved is no longer.

They're more in-line with the rest of the market would be my take. Stereohopic was slightly higher than I expected when I got it but $11.50 for a 6 pack still isn't pushing them out of the affordability realm and most of their other 6 packs are still under $9.50.

"In-line with the rest of the market" sounds like Heineken. Not Lagunitas.

    So true!
I was always impressed by them. Great beer and very low, affordable prices.

They're a weird case for sure. One of my favorite brewers for years. And while I still like their old school beers (at least on the rare occasion that I can actually find them fresh), their new ones hold no interest for me.

I haven't really noticed a price increase, for whatever that's worth.

IMO Lagunitas IPA is still a fantastic example of the west coast IPAs that I cut my craft beer teeth on. I like to grab one of those venue-sized singles a few times a month. Little Sumpin & Maximus are still solid "legacy" offerings although they seem to be harder to find fresh because they aren't new, shiny brands. If anything really rubs me the wrong way about Lagunitas it's that Pils seems to be on sabbatical. I really love that beer. I'm holding out hope that it comes back and is available in cans. I can't comment on price much as that doesn't really dictate my purchases save for things that are just insanely expensive, which Lagunitas is not.

Edit - Oh and Hop Water is delicious

I can still pick up a case of their IPA for $27. I'm not sure who else can come in at this price point. Even Sierra Nevada runs more per bottle. Waldos is going for about $12 a four pack. i can't remember what I paid last year, but I still feel like it's a bargain.

$12 a 6 pack is what I paid last year. Same for a 4 pack this year. Hoptimum is still $12 for a 6 pack. That's what's in my fridge this year.

I only have access to 12 packs. Lagunitas IPA is $16. Torpedo $14. I pick Torpedo every time. Lagunitas IPA was never my favorite however. Undercover, Shugga, Sucks, Stoopid, Sumpin, Maximus & Waldo were.

I'm not drinking many IPAs these days but I did pick up a single can of Little Sumpin not too long ago and it was a nice nostalgic experience. Is Lags labeling their bottles so it's actually easy to see and understand the bottled on date?

I've seen it. Just assumed no one was actually drinking it. Like decaffeinated coffee.

I've actually.been surprised at how little lagunitas has shifted their portfolio since the buy out. Waldo's was good this year. Stereohoptic was a pleasant surprise. They're not as commonly in my fridge as they once were but they seem to be humming along in a pretty typical way

Yeah it’s not necessarily relevant to the convo at hand but it’s top notch stuff if you’re into soda water

As a child growing up on 70s/80s TV I think every boy looked up to the Fonz as the pinnacle of “cool”. Hope the Jump the Shark reference never dies out.

I watched the Fonz jump the shark as it aired. At the time, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Aaaaay!
