This is happening in the IP, Locals, and $4$ forums, it's just not high volume. More posts will generate more trades, I encourage Advocates to put trade offers out there. We can make cool beer for cool beer trades popular again.

Polar vortex weather probably has something to do with it too. Give it time and a few more stimulus checks.

Cold weather is certainly holding me back....low teens and single digits in Northern Michigan (where I'm hiding out from Covid) for the next week or so

I just trade all of my best beers that I can get to AK. I thought for the longest time Barleywines “sucked” and that’s not the case at all. Now I’m on a AK Barleywine kick.

I’ve only been on BA for less than a year, but have noticed it’s a few of us who post all the time. Hopefully ppl want to keep trading and try new stuff.

Whoever is reading this, I challenge you to post a FT offer and try some new beers!!!

Which is better for trading - Facebook or IG?
Would prefer not joining but I’m assuming there is more activity on those sites?

I don't have the answer as I don't trade on either but it does seem like people need to over pay these days here just to get someone's attention. Not enough traders here anymore so it's dying a slow death.

It's up to the people to make it work. Post a trade, be open to trying new stuff. I do blind trades frequently, I trade my best stuff and they do the same. It's been great! It'll die if no one posts trades.. I get great beer by me, but I want to try other stuff out there. I just discovered I like Barley wines again because of this site. I also tried a bad ass lager Weihenstephaner Vitas. I'm rabbling..

When I wrap up my 4 current trades, almost now 5 trades this week. I'll do a blind trade with someone.

Post a blind trade and you'd be surprised the cool stuff you get:beers:

MLB is dying a slow death yet MLBPA and Rob Manfred do nothing about it. Are they naive to what's going on in their sport?

I've wondered the same about BA trading

I don't need any tips on trading, thank you.

Facebook groups, there is a bunch of them. Many specific for one brewery or region. So may have to join several for what you are looking for.

I've only made small trades on IG, but never had huge problems.

I think there is more activity with BA trading than people think, it's not dead - yet.

Ah, colby600, I didn't mean to offend you. I was basically offering to trade with you if aren't getting bites on stuff and offering a different approach if your trading has slowed down. My trading has speeded up:grin:

I think you took that the wrong way :beers:

Probably just me as my posts are always narrow - one specific CT brewery (Fox Farm) in exchange for a select group of regional breweries (Notch, Schilling, Suarez). I’ve just assumed someone with access to those breweries would jump on a reciprocal.

I've made more trades here in the last year or so than I've made in all previous years combined. I like what's going on in this community, and I'm optimistic that trading activity will pick up this spring. It is a bit discouraging to see a limited number of traders ISO and FT very limited beers, but that's not the whole picture.

    Facebook
Totally agree with this point. Easy to close a trade if you are offering whiskey or a big stout, otherwise linking up with someone who is interested in what you have is a crapshoot.
Hope you are right about things picking up in Spring. I trade more in the Limited forum and have found things to be painfully slow.

Just chiming in to strongly caution anyone against trading using Instagram. There's less (read: no) accountability in general (as opposed to Facebook where at least there are moderated groups and discussion when something goes awry) which leads to both (1) inflated "prices" of both beer and other varieties and (2) lots of bad actors. Facebook is a mixed bag.

Which is why I don’t use Instagram. I don’t have Facebook so that’s not an option anyway. Most of my trades these days are with repeat BA traders whom I trust and have good rapport with
