I haven't seen a decline in my drinking since I started to cellar. I have however seen an incline in my spending.

My cellar was a little over 40 bottles last week. I just got it down to under 20 last night. Friends help

Not really. It's actually funny, we have this stocked cellar, but then just end up going to bars and rating/sessioning tap beers or house bottles. The drinking has, I guess, shifted, rather than declined.

I have to say no. My cellar isnt very large but there are some great bottles in there that I wanna save for special occasions. Lots of stouts, sours. So what I drink is mostly via trade and buying off the shelve.

    Cheers!

Initially, my drinking went down by a lot. Only a beer or two a week. Didn't take long until I was once again drinking "satisfying quantities" with my friends on a daily basis (regular beer, craft beer, anything). Had overproof rum one weekend, then a lot of cognac the other. Soon enough fell victim to liver pain (was there for months, but increased in intensity over time). Now on a break from drinking, although not from collecting and cellaring.

Irresponsibility sucks, especially when you're only 24. :flushed:
