I've seen Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale around since Friday and see that Hunterdon will be distributing River Horse Hipp-o-lantern this week as well.

Not necessarily excited about pumpkin brews yet (never will be), but I find it irritating how Fall beers have landed more than two months before the season even begins. Now we wait for Sam Adams...

I already saw Pumking at my local shop last week. It's still July!!

Pretty sure I saw ST Pumking at Whole Foods Brooklyn over the past weekend.

    Irritating indeed.

Pumking is out in WI and my first shipment of Leines Oktoberfest comes in today. Ugh!

At least Pumking and Weyerbacher's Imperial Pumpkin are both delicious. I'll be buying some of both when they get here. Was told they should both be at my local store next week...

Pumking, Weyerbacher, Hippolantern and Schlafly should all be here by the first week of August. I agree with the OP in that I do not like pumpkin beer dropping this early. Mid August I see as fine but not in early July. The difference between the OP and I is that I love pumpkin beer. I will eventually start to stockpile every single pumpkin beer I can get my hands on around September and drink them through Christmas. I even think of Iron Hill's Welcome Great Pumpkin event as a holiday. But I will not make a single purchase or drink a single pumpkin until September.

Usually Pumking lasts around here 'til the fall or much later, so I'm not worried on missing out by not drinking any now. It just doesn't feel right, even though I really do love Pumking.

Since we've established who has already released their Pumpkin, now can we find out WHY breweries are feeling the need to do so this early?

I try to hold off drinking pumpkin beers until at least October but will make an exception for a cool September evening. So I won't be buying for quite a while.

It's kinda weird having pumpkin beers in July, but I'll drink Pumking any chance I get. Ready for a Pumkinator, too. Pumking is a month earlier than last year.

Pumpkins aren't in season to even use in the beer yet, but I guess not many are actually using fresh pumpkins...

Yep, I too have seen Pumking at my local shop. Didn't bother to check whether it was left over from last year but it seems safe to say, based on posts here, that it's just in.

Looking forward to finding some new pumpkin brews this season, didn't have much luck last.

I'd be interested to see a list of pumpkin beers that used canned pumpkin vs fresh. Doesn't Rogue use their own freshly grown pumpkins? Love that delicious orange bottle.

The question is why not. The longer their beer is on the shelves, the longer people will buy them. Don't buy them and they won't come so early...

True. Most don't even use pumpkins at all just dump loads of spices in there.

Like some other BA's posted above, I refuse to buy a Pumpkin beer before October.
