Sounds like a good one. Wisconsin should be ashamed that that domain name was available.

Why do these places make it so expensive? Why not just have a free event with a commemorative mug, 10$ liters and food kiosks and call it a day?

Why do something for free when people willingly fork out cash?

from a business point of view, if you can guarantee a certain amount of people attending (ie, by ticket sales), it makes event planning go much smoother than guestimating how many people are going to show up.

Just saw than John Hall's Gran Gas is on tap at Haymarket right now. I've heard very little about this beer. Worth a stop in to check it out?

But can you really put a pricetag on getting oompahed by 5 hand-made sausages?

Love Haymarket, but $45 is a stretch..... GTOM was only $50 in comparison.

I'm miffed about the price too but dont the rev and haymarket bashes feature live entertainment? Granted not 35 or 45 bucks worth of music but still its something. Also they have to hire more labor and security etc etc etc........ but still i had to think two or three times before i pulled the trigger for rev.

i'm assuming haymarket's fest will be on site. rev's fest will be at the brewery on kedzie. which has a ton of space. both indoors and outdoors. it'll also be cheaper. pricey indeed but i know i'll have blast at rev brew. i did at their last party. not saying haymarket's will be lame or anything, i just have no experience.

I think when you account for the fact that Haymarket's includes the beer and food, while Revolution includes the 1L fill and doesn't include any food, the Haymarket one is going to be cheaper for the vast majority of BAs. Let's be honest -- who here would actually go to the Revolution party and NOT eat anything or get more than just that initial included beer?

This is also Pete Crowley we're talking about. The Haymarket one will be on a much smaller scale than the Revolution one given the spaces involved, but it'll be fun. I definitely enjoyed Sausagefest, although that was a focused beer/sausage/cheese event and this sounds like more of a party, what with the live music and such.

Good point, it looks like the haymarket one includes food and beer, where as rev gives you one giant beer.

that's true too. i don't eat meat and i like the options from the food trucks. i also like fenced off outdoors at rev. according to a post by a fellow BA, who sources a FB post? there will be LESS tickets sold than the opening. i don't think the opening party was overcrowded. honestly, i've only been to haymarket for growlers, in and out. do they have a beer garden, besides the front sidewalk seatings? another reason why i prefer rev. i also hope they have a ton of guests there.

45 bucks is still a great deal. when i originally posted that it was pricier, i guess i was thinking subconsciously. Rev oktoberfest, fobab coming soon, just paid for great taste. i need to allot myself my beer funds and not go wild. how else am i going to horde my BCS bottles
