This is the first time since i start brewing that im getting a cloudy beer, i know is not a big deal as long as the beer is not contaminated or going for a competition, this was a blonde ale for a competition so maybe next time.
The only thing that i did different from previous times was throwing the hops pellets into the wort, normally i use one of those tea infusers baskets with a mesh and never got any cloudy beer, this time i didnt use it because i though, well the whirlfloc will do it, but even with the whirlfluc that i always use.
Dont know if theres something else im missing. I dont use any filtration device, just regular homebrewing equipment.
My grain bill for a 5 gal batch was 80% pale ale 10% wheat, 5% caramel 10 and 5% munich. Willamette for bittering and cascade for a little aroma at the end. Ibu 22.

I tasted the beer, is not contaminated, it taste great but as i said throwing the hops with no hop bag or mesh was the only thing that i did different from previous batches, this is my 4th blonde ale and the previous 3 were so clear that i was impress about the how they turned out.
Might be that or do you think is something else?
When you think you have all figured, new things happen even tho i do the same thing over and over. Just a little change and everything change.

I have been homebrewing for 20+ years and I have always just thrown the hops in the kettle. I have never experienced cloudy beers.

Based upon the above it would seem to me that the answer for why you obtained a cloudy beer is "something else" but I have no way of knowing what it is.

Maybe you would be interested in watching this podcast on the topic of haze and clarity in beer:

How long ago did you brew it? Kegged or bottled? Carbonated how?

Oh btw is cloudy pre carbonation. I bottle carb and i brew it 16 days ago. I use regular bottle priming for carbonation.

But it was cloudy before carbonation, i yet have to see if it gets clear in 2 weeks of bottle carb but compared to my previous batches at this time is not as clear as the other blondes i made in the past.

Other thing that is different is the ABV 6.3% and OG was 1.063, dont know if that has sonethingo to do with it or maybe i used too much wheat? 10% was 1 pound of wheat in the whole grain bill.
But i used wheat before in the same amount.

If you have non-cloudy results using 1 lb. of wheat in previous batches I would guess this is not the issue for this batch.

    Same brand of wheat malt?

    Cheers!

Now that i remember? I did boil for 30 to 35 more minutes than usual waiting for the hot break to happen, dont know if that has anything to do with this.

In that case I would suggest you should obtain similar results from this product.

    Cheers!

This is pre carbonation? I wouldn’t worry about. I guarantee that after they carb and refrigerate the bottles it will clear up. RDWHAHB

Give it time to settle out, and don't be ashamed to have an angels share from what you're pouring or racking over. It you aren't comfortable with how it looks. Stop.

what kind of yeast? yeast seems to be a bigger "haze-maker" than the hops in my experience

Can you take a pic. Sometimes US-05 takes a bit of time to flocculate.

It has a lot of yeast or sediment in suspension for what i saw, i bottled a week ago so ill see if it gets better in 2 or 3 weeks. I cant take a picture now.

Too bad...I was going to suggest some gelatin...perfect for a non-hoppy Blonde Ale.

When did you exactly throw the hops in? Any chance you did it during any of the active fermentation

No. I did it while i was boiling the wort. Didnt do any dry hopping. I think dry hop will result in a cloudy beer, dont know for sure, i have never do that before.

But its cleae now. I think it was just matter of time for everything to settle at the bottom. I just panic to early
