I've done this with vanilla extract in lower abv stouts that I find substandard, it doesn't do any harm. I would give it a whirl if you have something laying around that you don't feel one way or the other about.

I would guess most breweries use extract to obtain desired flavors, i.e. peanut butter extract. So you should have at it.

I'd check the nutrition listing on those like a hawk before touching them and check for sugar content because you might have a problem that breweries of late have been experiencing with adding things in, which is additional fermentation activity.

There is pure cane sugar added to most of them.
But I'm adding them to a beer just before i drink it, not adding it to the brewing process.
I noticed at the grocery store it was NOT very thick in the bottle which would be best for adding to the beer.

Have at it, start with less since you can always add more. The extracts can be pretty powerful taste wise.Let us know how it turns out.

Sure, why not, if you like the flavor go for it.

Their regular line-up has artificial flavors + preservatives, but Signature syrups are all natural.

    good catch

make your own pastry beer is the idea here

I think Central Waters Mud Puppy Porter would be a good beer to try this out with. Or maybe Satin Solitude Stout. Point Bock?

Our family has used Torani flavoring syrups - mostly sugar-free - in coffee for years. I like them, but I'm thinking they are not concentrated enough. By the time you add enough to change the flavor the way you expect, you may find that the volume of fluid you add will dilute the beer too much.

On the other hand, you may consider using flavor extracts, which are much more concentrated. You may need to add a concentrated sweetener also, since many extracts are unsweetened. Extracts are typically in the spice section of your store, but to find flavors you want you may need to find them online, such as on Amazon. I thought about adding pumpkin pie flavor extract to some beers, but many of the Amazon reviews say they're vile.

I'd try it. I might be more inclined to add a shot or two of Frangelico to a big stout, but in principle I think you're onto something. Good luck!

@EvenMoreJesus frequently recommends a brand of flavorings in posts in the homebrewing forum. Maybe he can comment on whether that brand would work in a finished beer to accomplish the same thing, and whether any sweetness is provided like what a syrup adds.
