Note to self: If you buy $3000 worth of beer for yourself/buddies, you will NEVER live it down on BA .

All that aside, I'll be there to pick up a case or so of Hazel's (and likely a 4 pack of Colossal, and a bottle of 2 of Funk Soul).

 

Doing the same. A group of about 20 of us were already planning a Limo Bus west side brew tour on that day for my buddy's 40th. The primary stop was going to be Founders Firkin fest. Then this release was announced. Odd Side is on the list so we'll get there eventually, probably early evening. Who knows what will be available at that point.

 

I have a similar plan, except I doubt that I'll be able to grab a beer on tap. The shops in downtown Grand Haven are doing a live mannequin event from 2-4pm, so I'll have the wife and kids in tow. "Hey honey, check it out. Looks like Odd Side has some kind of bottle release going on. Who knew? Well, since we're already here, I might as well pick up a few 4-packs." Better brush up on my acting skills (not that it'll help).

 

She'll see right thru you Chuck... Hahahahahahaha

Awesome beer. Glad they are bottling Funk Soul Brother too. Really liked that one.

 

Just remember (like I've said before) @CB_Michigan , it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission .

Interestingly enough, my Wife opened one of the 4 bottles of Hazel's I bought Black Friday (at least she asked before she opened one haha). Her thoughts then were, "Meh, it's alright." I figured it wasn't going to go over that well when I informed her of my plan of picking up more this weekend. Instead, she asked if I could pick up a 4 pack for her !

Apparently the beer was better than she initially thought (even though that's the only bottle she's had of it lol). I guess I need to give my Wife way more credit, as she seems to be very tolerant of my 'hobbies' when I read some of these posts.

That's funny; I don't think you'd live a $3000 purchase down regardless of your place of origin .

I had a great time at the Dark Horse Release because of you, your son, and the other few guys that were waiting in line with us. Please thank your son for sharing that Griffin Claw Bourbon Imperial Screamin' Pumpkin; I actually enjoyed the taste so much I searched like hell to find a bottle in West Michigan. Awesome beer!

What time are you planning on showing up @HoorayMichBeer ? If I can time it right, I'd like to 'camp out' with you again. Also, do you know the other guy from the East side that was in line with us (he enjoyed the Hipster Brunch)? If so, let me know... I'd like to get a bottle of Hipster Brunch to him if you know who he was!

Also, if you guys have an extra WSU hat, shoot me a BM. I liked the design quite a bit and would love to add one to my collection (I know your son has some connections )

Did you ever locate another GC pumpkin?

 

I did, and it's sitting in the cellar. They actually had it on draft at Horrock's for a few weeks, and I made it a point to stop in more than a few times for just that. By far the best pumpkin beer I've ever experienced!

Planning on showing up around 11 like for Hipster's release. Never heard back from the other guy, he wanted to get a bottle of the Dark Horse Oktoberfest for his collection but never got an email.

 

I need a 29 case Chicago mule that just wants to help people out. No extra payment or courtesy beer required please.

 

Are their releases cash only? Hope not but you never know

 

No although Black Friday had about a 15-20min delay at open due to the pos system not working

 

Just arrived at about 7:50am and the line is deep. Real deep.

 

Wonderful, I haven't even left the east side of the state yet.

 

Must say glad I had a kid and stopped all this waiting in line shit. 3 year Bruery Reserve member I can order beer from my couch and trade it for most of the things I want to try.
