Don't get me wrong, but I like both. But the winner for me was the Baltic Porter. And who knew each style would synch so well with the pumpkin flavors?

I'm biased though... don't really like that many Tripels

I didn't have them this year, but I had them both last year and thought the Baltic Porter was really good.. didn't like the Tripel that much..

I didn't find either too memorable, but looking at my notes, it seems that the tripel was a bit lacklustre---like they used a really neutral yeast, maybe, and didn't bother hopping---while the porter was 'pretty good'.

If you like the porter, give Midnight Sun's 'TREAT' a try.

The Baltic Porter was one of the worst beers i had this year.

In general I have found that porters and stouts taste the best with pumpkin flavor. Something about that dark, malty backbone that really melds well with pumpkin spice.

I like the Porter a little better, but I just recently mixed them together and had an interesting hybrid blend
